Hi everybody, I am new here and I want to buy E6400, but unfortunaly I have an AGP card , and DDR 400 , but as I know Asrock 775i65g and Asrock Conroe865pe support Conroe, but if to take these two variants, whats's the best ? - as I know 865 can handle 300mgz FSB,or can it be higher ? - I don't know, but I thi nkConroe865pe is a little bit better, correct me if I am wrong...And I know a bit about 775 DUAL - VSTA, but I want to ask, what the maximum FSB on this mobo ?

Asrock mobo's that support conroe's are best bang for a buck but not definitely as good as high end mobo in the market today.

    I used Asrock 775Dual - VSTA...
but, oh my god too many problems i encountered along the way.

but Twins775 was good mobo i have can reach a 340FSB.
When you do it right in the training, you can do it right in real life...

Has anyone got anything new in the past week or so. I have had the E6600 for about three weeks now and i tell you its been painful. Your sitting in front of it everyday.

Its painful , it needs a 590 board fast.

Not bad so is 314fsb about the limit for this board? I presume the CPU could have gone higher (even without more voltage) quite easily otherwise.

A lot of people would suggest waiting for an RD600 board. Price may be prohibitively expensive when they first drop however.

    Hi, another newbie here!

I've been doing a lot of research about the new PC I'm building over the last few months, and since the new c2d has come out I've been waiting for a suitable motherboad. And watching. And waiting some more.

Normally I don't wait for whatever's round the corner, because I'd spend all my time waiting... but I wanted to enjoy the summer outside, and now the weather here in Germany has turned rubbish I think it's time to order my bits.

I'm planning to get the 7900GTX graphics card, and I had wanted to get an SLI-capable motherboard so that when my 7900 can't hack it anymore I can just buy another - by then another 7900 would be much cheaper than whatever single card is top of the range. I'm not interested in going SLI just yet as on today's games it's only really worth doing if you use silly resolutions, which I wouldn't be using on my 19" LCD.

I'm also wanting to run 2 LCDs, partly so I can use Windows apps on one while playing games on the other. SLI wouldn't allow me to do this unless I got a cheap third graphics card for PCI.

Now here is the crux of my indecision. I had promised myself that I wouldn't bother overclocking this time, but the easy overclocking potential of the c2d is too easy to turn down and should delay my next upgrade significantly (and save money in the long run). I've read that the NF4 chipsets are rubbish for overclocking and support SLI, but the Intel 975X chipset is great for overclocking but doesn't support SLI. So I have to choose between SLI and overclocking, and I just can't make up my mind.

My options are: Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe, Asus P5WDH Deluxe, or wait for NF5 motherboards. I really don't want to do the latter. (I've gone for Asus not only because of their good rep but also I want a quiet system, and DFI LP boards have tiny fans which I imagine are noisy. I'm not too fussed about the poor connector positioning on the P5N32.)

I'm currently leaning towards the idea of getting the P5WDH and forgetting about ever going SLI, but I keep going round in circles. By this evening I'll probably have changed my mind again for the umpteenth time, and will be leaning towards the P5N32. It's not an easy choice... I've outlined the factors that are affecting my decision, so what do you guys think??

    Hiya

Also a newbie here. I also am planning my conroe adventure. I haven't been much of an overclocker since my last few chips have been not reliable.(Don't ask ). Anyway below is the sytem as it stands now, but only the CPU, Memory, and Video are here. The MB is causing me the most trouble. This thread is what I needed to find all the options. Thanks!

This system will be overclocked and used as a gaming box. Have a picked what it takes to build a good system?

    Thanks for the help.

P5B would be my choice at this time for the best 965 board.

Anyone seen any leaked reviews on the ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium? It is the Intel 590 SLI board. Been hunting around. You can already get backorder status on ZZF. Supposedly, mid September for availability and a $299 price tag. I was just about to pick up an ASUS P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe board when I saw the return disclaimers had changed (defective return only, etc). That told me a new board was on the near horizon, so I started to look around. Details are still scant on how well this board will work.
