    L627 E6600 just arrived...testing now.

Woot! I took a gamble and it worked. I called a bunch of different places and MWave said they JUST recieved an order yesterday, so I went for it and got a week 27. Whew.

All I'm hoping for is 3.4GHz stable at a little lower VCore than I'm at now.

I hope this 27 chip can at least do that.

I'm also staring at a brand new P5B Deluxe in my hands. What should I do? Should I try out the P5B D or stick with my P5W DH?

I'm tearing apart my box now and I'll post results here. Funny, this week 27 has the rounded edge IHS, my week 23 had the sharp. Regardless, this 27 seems very flat. Don't wanna lap it just yet. I'll see how it does first.

Brahmzy did you try it on the P5W first to see it it was the cpu holding you back or the board?

OK, I got done with my 3.4GHz tests.

These were verified using Orthos and 3DMark05 CPU tests. These have proven to be solid tests for me in the past. I will run 24 hour tests tonight, although I'm pretty confident I don't need to. Also, this is a T-Ultra-120 with all fans spinning a low speed - you can barely hear the computer at all. I'm not going to try to set records by spinning my fans on high. I want stability with a silent box. 24/7

So, for 3.4GHz (378x9) stable on my P5W DH, my week 23 E6600 needed 1.625 VCore (BIOS), this new week 27 E6600 needs 1.375Vcore (BIOS)!!!! I have reached my goal - this is what I wanted originally 3 months ago!

I will now try for 400x9.

This is friggin' awesome. MWave had 23 in stock yesterday morning. I would assume (don't quote me) there's a VERY good chance you'd get a week 27 from them out of that batch.

Yeah i got a week 27 too, its an E6300

I was able to get 3.15Ghz with 1.3v. Just doing the volt mod on my p5b now to achieve over 450FSB.

Having a bit of trouble here staying stable @ 400x9. I'm not sure if it's lack of VCore, VMch, VFSB etc.. 3DMark05 CPU tests are bombing. I'll get it sooner or later. I did have to bump up VMCH to 1.55V from AUTO just to boot into Windows @ 400x9.

    Testing continues...

    Brahmzy,

I did not fair as well as you with my newegg order. I did however get a week 26. Its much better than the week 24 I have, but runs hot as a dickens when I add more volts. It does boot at higher clocks with less volts than the L24. I ran a 1mb pi @ 400X9 @1.5vcore set in bios, vdroop 1.46@ load. It's currently priming @ 3.2ghz default volts (all volts except memory set to auto). Already put the L624 on ebay, and will order a L627 from tankguys

Brahmzy, are you using your p5b?

If not try it, im sure you’ll get better results. Its the board i am using with my E6300. The board is excellent. Upping the volts to the southbridge to 1.7 and vFSB to 1.4 stabilises the high FSB, currently at 450FSB.

I have a week 24 chip on P5WDH, it posts 3.8 / 4.0 @ 1.55v and boots to XP no problem at 1.55v 400x9, however only 1 core completely stable running orthos it errors within a few minutes. Needed 1.6v to do 30-1 hr stable orthos and since temp was about 70'C (asus probe 2) I stopped.

Backed down to 3.505 (389x9) at 1.55v it was stable for 2 hr 47 min then errored in small FFTs 68'C temp (lower when ambient temp is >76'F)

Raised to 1.565 and it is stable with small FFT Orthos for as long as I ran it (10 hrs) but with large FFT now it errors in a couple hours.

I have nothing that taxes the CPU more than 50-55'C only Orthos so I'm probably just going to leave it at 389x9 1.565 since small FFT is 100% stable @ 68'C

Anyone think 1.565 24/7 is asking for trouble? Especially since I'm running Scythe Infinity and idle is 45'C and normal software (games/ripping DVD) temps are 50-55'C max?

Bram GRATS on your new chip, I think at default I tested up to 3.4ghz before raising my voltage past 1.45v unsure what max was at default voltage.

I'm building up the P5B right now with my week 23. I know EXACTLY what it did on my P5W, so I'll be able to tell pretty quick which board I'll keep. Dad will get the "discards", hehehehe.

OK. I have found my new happy spot as far as silence, heat and stability. 400x9 3.6GHz @ 1.475V (BIOS, 1.455 actual). I can just squeak in a 13sec 1M SuperPi at this speed and 3D stabilty's friggin ROCK SOLID.

I'm Orthos stable and 3DMark05 CPU test stable (I'll run a 12 hour tonight) (already ran a 2h15m).

So, I'm sure without a doubt I can hit 3.7GHz with close to 1.6VCore, but things just start getting WAY too hot for 24/7. Again, all my fans are barely spinning (I need the silence, hehe.)

I HAD to raise VMCH to 1.6V (was fine on AUTO @ 3.4GHz). VFSB and VICH are AUTO. My new RAM's at 2.1VDIMM.

So basically my week 27 chip got me 400 more MHz at the exact same voltage. Woot! I'm very happy. And I think this is gonna be the average week 27. No 4GHz here - not on air for sure.

I'll post some results with my P5B D...do you really think it'll make a difference? Could it be worse? One thing I woudn't mind getting rid of is, the annoying friggin' power-downs on restarts. That crap bugs the shyz outa me-and my HDDs too I'm sure. As far as I know, the P5B D doesn't do that crap.

Guys FYI: there are now 2 week27 steppings. The other is L627A795

I haven't been able to hit 4GHz (yet ) with mine. I'll be posting results this evening tho.

Nice clocks brahmzy, you have a fantastic chip there to be so high at such low voltages.
