Games and my daily applications all ran fine at 2.87GHz, but when I ran Prime95 on each core together, one would error. So far, 2.8GHz has been solid as far as I can tell. I'm not usually one to run a stress test for 24 hours, but 2.8 hasn't caused any errors for the testing I have done so far.

I'm very happy with this CPU. Stock air cooling with stock volts...2.8 right out of the box.

    2.9ghz, 1.456v 9hr prime stable!
3dmark was kinda low, because my ram is only at 240, 2.5-4-4-10. When I find out how high the cpu goes, it will be around 280ish, 2.5-3-3-8

    Yikes

I know my sig needs to be updated, Core 2 Duo guys, for now AMD is obsolete.

Trust me took 2 friends to OC E6600 @ $369 to 3.3ghz easy to realize its time to check out Intel again. Especially because you don't have to set affinity when gaming!

Or in some cases, it's just a lot easier to swap out a CPU for a newer CPU like I did, then to buy a new mobo, ram and cpu.

$230 vs what...$800-1000? My next upgrade will have me swapping out all of that stuff. By then, either AMD has an answer or I will get Intel and it'll be cheaper next year than it is now with a better selection of mobos.

I haven't set affinity for gaming and haven't had any problems. I don't know anything about that problem.

I just have got my X2 4800+ today.. installed, boot , no prob..

the step is CCBW 605 UPMW, someone know how can OC this one? cause badly i have got no choice, the X2 4800+ is really impossible to find here, i was lucky to have one of the last some distributor have send to shop.., ( and i have make the order there's 4 weeks now.. )

I have put it directly in water, but i have need use a bad thermal grease, cause i have no more AS5 here, so poor Nanogrease for replacement in wait..

One ask about StressPrime 2004, i launch 2 at same times, and set the CPU 1 and 0 on each, but what i need set for memory use, i divide by 2 and for each core, and for priority?
( sorry stupids question, have been ask so many times,.....)

    pickme......

you must be using pc400 ram....you will need to use a divider on your ram...set it to 166....not 200 in the bios in the memory settings.....then try it again...if that works..give it a little more voltage, say to 1.475-1.5 and go up from there after seeing where it will go with stock voltages first.....

Anyone know anything about this particular stepping?

    LDBFE 0626GPMW

All who have ordered from the shop get the same stepping it seems like, so I wonder if it's any good? Gonna order tomorrow if the stepping is of any use

    I m damned !!!!

My 4800+ look like be the poor bad overclocker on earth.. it look will max around 2.9ghz... But... many thing look like strange acting from the mobo ( or the CPU)... hard way for reboot after 3hours of memtest 5 at 3030mhz.. ( Need a manual reset CMOS with jumper)... The CPU is strangely cold with 1.7V (27°C-28°C in idle)... some pins have benn touch with the thermal grease, i wait a tube for reinstall it and try clean that.. and hope this is the prob...
Cause if not i switch for a better dual core Overclocker, bad when i see some 3800+ and 4400+ OC like this and i see my bad 4800+.. ( i have find a shop where they sell pre-tested X2 ( good rev. series they test them at 1.45V for 3Ghz..)

    I'm having a strange problem with my S939 X2 4600+ Manchester.

Whenever I use a Vcore of 1.475v or higher , my system just suddenly shuts down without warning. It mostly occurs after being only 3 or 4 minutes in Windows.
With shutting down I don't mean a nice clean power off, or a BSOD.
I just suddenly powers off like someone pulled out the AC cord of my PSU

    Here's the situation:

10x275 @ 1.425v is stable when running Dual Prime for 8 hours.
10x275 @ 1.450v is stable when running Dual Prime for 8 hours.

10x275 @ 1.475v System shuts down after 3/4 minutes in Windows

    Now comes the weirdest part:
    10x270 @ 1.475v System also shuts down.

    It's like I can't run a vcore of 1.475 and higher... what's the deal?

    Additional info of my system:

    X2 4600+ Manchester, LDBFE 0607 SPAW "T"
Running at 10x275 @ 1.45v, CoreTemp reports 33ºC idle and 45ºC Stressed, LDT is to 3x275.
I removed the IHS, proc is watercooled by DTek WhiteWater.
    Mobo is a DFI-nF4 Ultra-D 704-BTA, PSU is a OCZ PowerStream 520W.
    2x1024 Crucial Ballistix running at 275MHz 3-3-3-7-1T @ 2.7v

    Edit. RESOLVED
It seems my Crucial Ballistix Z503 and X2 4600+ don't like eachother when running with a divider.
    10x275HTT 11:12 is a no go @ 1.450-1.475v
    12x230HTT 1:1 Is now Prime Stable @ 1.450v
    11x260HTT 1:1 Is now Prime Stable @ 1.475v

Did you think of that all by yourself? Keep your CONroe oppinions to yourselfs and go back to the Intel forums and stop trying to start a flame war in a AMD forum... Why for god sakes is a intel disussion going on in AMD forum mate??? Good day!!! Upgradeing is so over rated when it would cost me $1000 to make a system like yours when I aready can just wait for K8L to kick its ass with. Won't be saying anything then. Whole reason to get AM2 is it can last for 2 generations you can blab all you want about how great big and bad your E6600 cpu is. You'll need to do another mobo cpu and memory upgrade when the DUO3's come out. K8L was desined to go at it with DUO3 not conroe.

Takes 5 secs to load any level at max settings on ES4 Oblivion for me. I don't have to "set" around when gaming! Go back to your superior club, we don't want any from you stranger. Conroe whats that? Doesn't sound like I need one when i get 150FPS in a game, when my OS loads in one sec and takes a half of a bar to get into windows and loads all my programs in 10 secs from boot.

I'm sure we need a conroe now huh? Don't hold your breath. At these speeds no cpu for eather company is slow. Infact good luck in telling the difference at these speeds when your only gain will be a few secs faster 2 or 3 MAYBE if your lucky. On that FSB don't make me laugh, 5 or 10FPS must be sure worth it huh??? I don't think so. Go home.

New bios makes it stabe for 24/7 use on air. And I'm loveing it. No use getting anything newer. I still have yet to turn up the volts.

    Older x4800 OEM

    Chance to pickup, some code
    CCWE 0522TPMW
I read older chips tend to be better overclockers is this true?
Being an OEM make any difference?
    Thanks
