Probably one of the worst layouts on intel yet. Figures Abit would screw something up on product with some potential...

I think the layout is fine, the board looks hot, and looks to be a decent OCer

Oh nice, finally some higher res shots of the board.

I'm quite anticipating the overal results for this board, as it's the one I'm eyeing for me Conroe setup. And I like the red & black colour setup better than the blue & black. Pricing and performance is all what's left ^^.

You better use a E6600 or something with 4mb cache

Sick of seeing those wee 6300s at 450+ FSB and getting my hopes up before I read the CPU-Z

    Nforce4 for Intel... nuff said.

Nice to see Abit having a board which looks good, and seems decently overclockable.

I'm just hoping there are no major bugs in the BIOS, will probably wait for others to try this one first.

Prefer the DFI 590 IE layout much more though, but I suppose that's a personal choice.

I REALLY REALLY hope Abit makes this happen. It's always good to see one of your favorite manufacturers come back from the dead. And so far this looks like it could be a board that really gives them some hope.

Things I'm liking about this board:
    -FSB looks GREAT!
    -Multi-GPU!
    -Color scheme!
-Power & Reset button on motherboard is a great idea! So is the temp readout.
-Looks like they actually have a good heatpipe design with good contact (unlike Asus ).
    -Overall decent layout.

Things I'm not so fond of:
-The SATA placement. What the *#@^! Am I seeing this right...the 4 next to the southbridge is fine, but why place 2 over the floppy drive in the bottom middle of the board? That just makes no sense to me. There is clearly enough room on that board that they did not have to place them there and could have them placed together like in other boards. I'd like an explanation on this. And I'm sure the one behind the CPU is the same as other curernt board for some external drive right?
-Why do we need that ATX 4-pin plug on the motherboard. I guess it's no big deal but it seems like a waste of space and resources. Or am I missing something here? I'm guessing there thought was that someone would use this to hook up a fan or something??? I'd much rather have a cleaner and smaller standard 3-pin. The ONLY use I can see for this is if it was on the other side of the motherboard and allowed me to hook up an IDE/Floppy without running a cable from the PSU. But even then it's only an advantage in the sense of making cable management easier.

Also I guess some people are not to thrilled about the PCI placement for there sound cards. I can understand this and looking at the board there probably is an easy way they could have fixed this. But to me there are more important things here then that. Besides isn't there better solutions to your audio needs. Also whats the info on this boards on-board audio?

All in all I'm very happy with what I see. This might end up being the next board I buy.

On a side note. Coolaler where do you get these...

As for pricing, it's listed here in Germany for about €213, which'd be ~$270. Not that cheap. But usually, the price you get in $ is what we will get in € (high tax etc). So you might end up arround $220-$240 I guess.

    Hi Coolaler,

1 gig or 2 gig memory and which brand?

Sorry for asking this, but I think we need you guys to be specific when you hit these fsb's. People expect to sometimes get the same or at least close, but certain types of hardware incompatibility only leads to dissapointment. I know that not everyone can oc like the masters, but having a clue to the equipment and it's sources makes things fair for those who wish to purchase these products based upon the marketing they get here. Even considering the variance we get in the same products, and soemtimes the golden samples that get sent out by companies to some review sites.

Nothing rude or nasty intended, I'm a Coolaler fan!

    Regards
    Raja

just for comparesing how much does the asus p5B dlx cost there?

one thing i dont like is uguru atm, its fine for ocing but one thing that really annoys me on it is that there is no loging option and it seems the same version as on the al8 that im using atm, and no other monitoring software can be used on them, mbm, speedfan, systool none work
