It is quite depressing that Xtreme is erasing the pictures after some time.
I have already republished them a dozen times. This is not what you expect with a "sticky".

BTW, do you still feel that a vMod to 1.4 would be an issue for wear and tear on the GPU now that the source of 7900GT problems has been found in the memory?
I know that there is a difference as the card will not switch between 1.2v and 1.4v, but the major hardware mods to enable the switching are beyond my abilities.

I think that 1.4 and even 1.5 Volt is OK, but if you have a choice it is even better to switch back to 1.2 V in 2D.
The tactics recently used, was nothing else but "If you cannot sell , confuse". What I mean to say with this, is that the Infineon memory did not solve anything at all.
My impression has always been, and still is, that the GPU is to blame.
The 7950 with a different type branding, seems have an improved G71.
So buying a 7950GT or a 7950GX2 seems to be the best thing to do as long as the G80 is to be expected.
