Why aren't more ppl using this board? As it seems as one of the best.
E8400, P5Q-E, Crucial 2x2GB , XFX 8800GTX , Corsair HX620W
D-TEK Fuzion, MCW60, Thermochill PA120.2, MCP655
Well it's +1 for me. Just ordered it at last. I've had to order my dads rig, but he's paid me some back so it went straight into this board.Originally Posted by higgins

From the moment i saw this board (i've always used Asus for their grate quality) i was just waiting fro more reviews and new BIOS do to the trick. I wan it cuzz it look so sexy also, (i want my next board to black hell yeah) and the layout is good.
Ummm just watching Asus page everyday... they now have like 15+ boards that support C2D. I wanna see that P5B-V in action.
I'm going to try a Scythe Mine with a 120mm capable of up to 2.5k RPMs on the P5B Deluxe until I can get my hands on a Tuniq Tower 120. I've got all my system fans on Sunbeam 4 channel rheobus so I can dial them up as needed.Originally Posted by Moonraker™

I've also trawled through these forums, but can't find the point where the Conroe will need more volts. I've never touched volts through BIOS before at all, so pushing on stock is all I know.

Well, M8 I don't consider myself a good role model as an overclocker. I am often overly eager and could fairly be accused of being recklessOriginally Posted by Moonraker™

I am just using 25mm thick fans myself. They are intended for the Mine and the Ninja so I keep it simple.
I can tell you with both my E6700 and E6400 they will do up to 3.2GHz on stock voltage. To keep 3.3GHz they needed a slight bump in voltage. For 3.5GHz to 3.6GHz they need around 1.5v for both to keep it stable. The E6700 needs all of 1.6v to do 3.7GHz for some reason and my air cooling can not tame it. If I did as some of these other fellows and lost my case it might be a different story. A 425FSB @ an 8 x multi is alarmingly simple with my E6400, I don't have to start getting tricky til 435, and @ 439 I am pretty much done on this unmodded P5W DH D. I can boot 439 x 8 and that's it. If I desire more I have to resort to clockgen. I have been playing with a 450FSB @ an 8 x multi and may be able to get it stable tuning with MemSet. We will see.
I hope I have cause to proclaim, " Crikey! Have a go at that!" in the coming week for the right reasons. You know if Steve Irwin was into building his own rigs, he'd be an overclocker.
I'll post up my results with my P5B Deluxe for all to see later in the week in the Intel section. They won't be Xtreme and I hope respectable.

I'll be waiting for them results m8. You've got a close system to what Ill have. The Antec P180 (not that rev.1 and rev.2 are much different), a Sunbeam Rheobus, WD Raptor 74GB, 7950GX2. PC2-6400 4-4-4-12 memory.... Not a perfect match, but closeOriginally Posted by malficar
It won't be until the end of the month until I get my rig fully built then it's Ocing inside the case as I plan on gaming too. So whilst I'll be trying to max it (lol), I'll eventually settle on a stable OC for 24/7.

I'll update this post with the P5B Deluxe results.

Yes 01 is slower @ the same clock. It is 50257:
Doing it on a straight 500FSB for 3.5GHz raises the score to 51304:
Thing is I was stuck @ 3.51 GHz with my P5W and so far I am up to 3.7GHz with my P5B Dlx. My 3dmark06 CPU score @ 3.7GHz is 3156 thats way better than I what I can get on the P5W @ 3.51.

EDIT: You may look here for benches of a P5B Deluxe vs the Bad Axe. Its a toss up in gaming, and the differences are small win or lose.

hi,
is the difference important between the Vcore while you're in IDLE and FULL with the P5B dlx?
cause it seems that it is important with the P5B (not dlx).
Actually i don't really care about the difference between windows and the bios (drop) i just want to know if the Vcore is stable![]()

I'm jealous. You should be able to really let go with the vcore. If my set up could tame 1.6v I'd probably be on 3.8 GHz. Heck I can boot 3.9 GHz and it's hella unstable.Originally Posted by kayl

I will probably relax the memory tomorrow and see if I get any further.
For guys looking for a great gaming rig for decent cash I'd definitely say P5B Deluxe and an E6300. 400 x 7 for general use and 500-522 x 7 on air for gaming or very demanding tasks. The 7950 GX2 also runs great in this board under BIOS 0507.

Did you run Orthos yet at 3.7? Or is that the highest benchable? I might give this board a try since Asus is neglecting the P5W.
