Another New + Entry level of Micron D9 from GSKILL

i have some questions for G.S Technician
my setup:
- Gigabyte DS3
- E6600
- of course F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ

what is strange is that i can do 32M 495 4/4/4/12 with only 2.1v
but i can't do 500 with 4/4/4 or even 5/5/5 , i tried to increase vddr but it's worse

May you give me some tricks to obtain the "famous" 500 please ?

ps: i tried different ram ratio too and same conclusion

u need to think about...why ppl using D9+DS3 and most of them have DDR2 1000 can't reach problem but it runs at other motherboard no problem @ DDR2 1000 4-4-3 ?!

I've been up to 3.3Ghz on my E6400, max bootup is 400x8 i have to go the rest of the way in windows. The ram has been great, no problem booting up on my DS3. I've had the ram to 550Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1vdimm haven't really tried for more

i try 1G*2 on DS3 is just up to DDR2 970...
same ram i did 1104 cl4-4-3 on p5wgd2 ws pro....

3.3ghz so 412 fsb with X2.5 , your ram is 515 ...
you tried a lower fsb and X3.33 ram multi ? ( it's your settings i need for 550 )

3v is good, i think 2.55-2.6v is possible for 24/24 and 2.9-3v for bench...

EDIT: BTW, a buddy of mine from Europe asked me to get him a pair of that 2GBHZ, since it's not easy to buy where he lives. So, I got one from Newegg and it arrived on Monday. It's "632" (2006, week 32). Unfortunately, I had to ship it out yesterday, so did not have a lot of time to play around (about 6hrs) but got a bit of an idea. This seemed to be a tad weaker than my pair and the other one I showed in this thread earlier (that I bought from another person).



It did SPi32M @ DDR2-1000 8-4-4-4.0 but needed 2.4v for it.
Then it apeared to max out SPi32M @ DDR2-1032 8-4-4-4.0 with 2.5v.

I stopped testing it further from the lack of time and sake for my buddy, not being comfortable with higher voltage testing

... just for those that wanted to get the idea what can be expected... Some pairs are stronger and some are weaker, naturally. Such is OCer's life

nah haven't really tested the 3 pairs i have beyond 2.2v on bad axe and this is pair #3. Haven't tested pair #1 or #2 on P5W DH yet. All 3 pairs i have seem to do exactly same and all 6x 1GB modules are consecutively serial numbered with 0629xxx so probably why heh

@Bachus - Look at SPD showing by CPU-Z for two diffrent pair of 2GBHZ. Yours sticks ( s/n 0605...) are PHU2-2GBHZ 400 4-4-4-12, but latest pair that you tested are ( s/n 0632... ) PHU1-1GBHZ 400 5-5-5-15...... Does it CPU-Z error or great mistake made by GSkill? Maybe a pair of 2GBNR memories is packaged into the heatspreader of 2GBHZ model. Very strange....

When you take a closer look at SPD tab on most of the latest 2GB kits from G.Skill, then you'll notice it bacame somewhat common. Just look at 3 pairs of 2GBHZ that eva2000 (above my post) has. They show the same SPD info as 2 of the sets I recently bought. Apart from a new naming rule that they have in place, I have seen here 2x1GB sets with individual sticks' SPD info of 1GBHZ, 1GBPK, 1GBNR, 1GBGA. They were all 2x1GB sets. There is something that comes to mind but perhaps G.S.T wants to clarify it, if neccesary...

its normal. nothing wrong with SPD.......
becasue our lab wants to burn SPD 400 5-5-5-15 and they claim it will be less problem appear. although i disagree but my vote doesn't change the result of the meeting heheeh..

same thing.... lab claim it is easy for them to do the SPD burn so they can burn all at once.....
i disagree but once again my vote doesn't make different
it is like 10:1 i think lol


however, those SPD doesn't really mater for any OC.... we all know we can set it up at bios
doesn't matter what SPD is, GSKILL Memory is still one of the best.
