    GSkill HZ's 0631 no longer D9's ?

ok well i am getting word that the HZ's 0631 and later are no longer D9's ?
    is this true ?
if so well im sure you all can imagine what i am going to say next.

are they Eplida ? and what is expected, with the right hardware of course, out of Eplida?

what ever the issue, if they are not D9's anymore this is going to explain why i cant do over 925 mhz no matter what i do.. ggrrrr!!!!

you were getting good speeds with yours werent ya dino ?

whats makes me mad is that they go and switch to a lesser IC and yet charge the same price.
    IF its true.
but IF the Eplida chips can do equal to D9's then its my board not allowing the ram to go over 925 stable.
i thought people were making a stink about the Eplida chips before the D9's like how good they were ?

I'd just return em and get some teamgroup, if you can't return it for free take a $30 dollar hit, I think they cost the same maybe $10 more and they use D9GMH

I totally understand you being upset if the chips have been changed by GSkill.

I am personally getting annoyed with the "bait and switch" tactics used by some memory manufacturers.

It is one thing to do this in the "value" sector where the user is not likely to be tweaking the ram and another to do it in the enthusiast geared products.

We buy modules based on the chips used, not the color of the heatspreaders or the timings on the labels. When a product with certain chips performs well, we buy it expecting it to carry the same chips...we are buying the chips!

If it is done because they don't have any more ICs, then EOL the product and start a new batch with a different revision number. How hard is that?
In memory of Gracie, my sweet, sweet wife and mother of my children. Darling, we will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace (born to this world on March 30, 1976; went to her Heavenly Father on Good Friday, April 22, 2011).

i thought i remembered you guys saying that as long as they were in production, they were D9's.
i'll pull the spreaders if i have to. when it comes right down to it.
i was thinkin of seeing if FCG had some time to test the ram out for me. i'll have to give him a buzz.

lol Eva bought them all. funny but i believe it lol

but anyways. i started the thread cuz off what i was hearing not to accuse or anything.
but the ol bait and switch is common practice so i started to get a little concerned.

i asked a very simple question since a major distributor is claiming the new HZ's are Eplida chips.
fvck it im removing the spreaders tonight

    its a legitimate question also.

    and talkin trust ?

dinos.. gskill claims the DS3 dont like D9 do you trust that ? i dont think so considering there are PLENTY of people with HZ's running well over 1000mhz.
gskill ram TG ram.. and those goofy OCZ 6400's that are running over 1000, ( dont know what chips they use.)

lol, I have 2gbhk and i hit 1000+mhz lol. something is really wrong with your mobo or something.

G.s. technician, Is it worth to switch from 2gbhz from 2gbhk IF....

    I am hitting 4-4-3-5 14tRc on 1000mhz+ and at PI 25.57 3.4ghz. would be such a big margin from 2ghk's chip to d9chip? (2gbhz) what would be your input on this. (DDR2 800 pc2 2gbhk 1gb x2 is what i have btw.)

    thanks in advance.!

    Gskills ftw!!

in fact, i think 800 HK is better for 24/7. why?

becasue MT chip is very good for overclock but who is going to use 2.6v 1200 CL4 everyday without damage memory. that just want i think. plus price is lower too
