wow you have a lot of patience. i'm sittin on 2.8 cause i know it's stable and it's not worth it to add voltage. back when i got the chip i tried 3ghz at 1.55 and it passed 1meg both cores but temps were passing 50c on the cpu. 2.9 was 1meg and 3d stable at 1.45 but never primed cause 46c was more than i thought the 100mhz was worth. i think it was mostly cause the pwmic was passing 60c that i didn't stay at 2.9 though. it only hits around 53c at 2.8.

i only really oc in the winter though cause it's when i need to keep my comp on all night anyway to heat my room.

It takes me about 2 weeks of priming when I get a new chip - I'll know exactly what voltage for each speed ....

I just got mine! But the temps are just insane on my system

    2400 mhz @ stock dual prime = 60 C
    2600 mhz @ 1.4 vcore dual prime = 70 C
I bet it has a lot more but I dont wanna push this thing futher with those temps. Did I do something wrong or is it normal that the temp is so high?

Cooling: Zalman 7000 with AL and copper in the middle with a decent airflow.

anyone got 0621xpmw? How high can you overclock that stepping?

    just got x2 3800+ the revison dh9-e4 Manchester I'm at 2600mhz @ 1.4v just testing now. Tcasemax 65*c tdp 71.9watts core#1 37*c core#2 37*c.

    *update*
This isn't a great overclock stepping at idle my temps are above but at load it goes to 57*c to 63*c on air tested with 1.55v on asrock 939dual sata2 motherboard at 2.6ghz. Prime failed at core 1 in seconds.

Switched back to my Gigabyte k8nsc-939 for 1.45v running 2.6ghz idle 40*c using artic freezer pro 64 haven't run primestress 2004 yet. Need chilled water or something. If I can get at prime stable at 2.6ghz then I'll be happy.

*update took off the ihs and padded it for my heatsink got it down to 2.5Ghz @1.375-1.450v running 46*c-48*c it runs ps2004 on core 0 okay so far didn't test too long.

*update2 reactivated my case fans from the pIII days and reseated the heatsink with a bit more pressure now its 10*c cooler I'm running 2.6Ghz@1.5v at 56*c with one core encoding. Seem stable so far I got the system to boot into windows at 2.8ghz but would freeze after a few mins.

    Well I'm kinda bummed...

Even though this is prime stable, I get corruption / freezing in 3d apps. Had a winnie back in the day that did the same thing. Oh well, dropped to 2.9@1.36v (load 38). I just wanted to see what I could max at, wanted to drop to a comfortable speed / volts for 24/7. Yes, I can prime 3.0 Ghz but I get lockups in 3d apps too. I can't say I'm disappointed... 2.8 Ghz on stock volts, 2.9 @ 1.36v - I'm still very happy!

Well its not the exact same since its not an xpmw, but I got a LDBFE 0621WPMW from newegg yesterday. Didn't get a chance to drop her in yet, but a guy on EOCF seem to be getting 2.8 @1.58v and that was maxed out... doesn't give me too much hope to best my 0610UPMW... kinda disappointing but won't know til I try. Gonna try to test her later tonight or tommorrow depends when I get back from shopping.

I have an 0621 VPMW and it don't clock quite as high as the Toledos. It's a Manchester and I've managed to get 2.8GHz with some measure of stability but fails prime. I'm currently at 2.75GHz with 1.49v and it's prime stable. I think I'd like a Toledo core, but they are unfortunately hit and miss when buying as the packaging is identical between the Toledo cores and Manchester cores so there is no way to differentiate them unless you put one in a machine and fire it up and check. I don't feel like playing russian roullette with processors.

My friend and I both just got a 618EPMW... but ours aren't as good as dnottis's. I am testing mine @ 2.6 with stock HSF and 1.37v cus thats the option on my mobo, cpuz gave me 1.36v when I had it set to auto. It's running a little hot with the stock HSF on full load, around 60c... I am still going up more as long as I don't have to increase vcore. I am looking to buy a better HSF these few days and I can't decide which to go for... gonna stay with air until I have to $$ for water. I am waiting on Mini Typhoon...also thinking of CNPS9500 AM2 or something not too big.

My friend's 0618 EPMW is going strong, he is running @ 2.8 with little over 1.4v and he has TT Big Water, but it running around mid 50s on full load, we are wondering why.

Today we bought same ZM-STG1 and gonna try it out to see if its better than AS5...

I can't wait and bought a TtBT... now 0618 EPMW is running @ 2.7ghz w/ 1.36v... idle 39c & 54c full load... are the temps good? I did applied some ZM-STG1 and loved it, easy to use and stuff.

Wish I could tell you man... I was gonna order one online in the US and have my friend ship it to me...but I was lucky to find one in Hong Kong.

I am going to try 2.8 this weekend...my friend's running at 2.8 also and both chips are from the same batch.

I just got my new X2 3800 today. Took a chance on a small site that actually listed their X2 3800 as Toledo core, knowing that there is not way of knowing by looking at the box. Got lucky. It turned out to be a Toledo.

Right now I'm priming 2.8 @ 1.4v(bios) and it seems to be going strong.

My X2 manchester would do 2.75 @ 1.525(bios) but failed prime after 11 hours. So I think I'm already ahead.

This one is: LCBIE 0619 RPMW

    Update:

Priming right now at 2.9 @ 1.425v(bios) and it seems to be stable, but I'll have to let prime go for a while and see.

    Further update:

Priming at 2.95 @ 1.5v bios so far is past 1 hour of prime.

Here's the link to the store I bought the processor from and the product page itself: http://www.pcdirectsource.com/Item.cfm?ID=1893

    LDBFE 0622WPMW.

No fancy speed here but am quite pleased actually as I am running stock cooler.
    245 x 10.......1.325 in bios (1.34 in smartfan).
Board is Asrock 939 sata with cheapo ram on 166 divider.
Highest recorded temp 51c running dual folding......generally averages mid forties.

May get to 2.5 or so but given I am folding on stock cooler 24/7 I am already beyond initial expectations

Be interesting to see how she fares with a better sink.

*Board bios has a 274 HTT limit apparently and don't fancy flashing to a bios without the limitation so I guess I'm looking at a 2.7 max anyway*

forgive my total lack of any recent X2 knowledge but are the toledo cores historically much better clockers or are the recent manchesters one might ipck up from the Egg just as good.
i am loving what i am seeing MadMike do with his toledo. so...
i will be using it on the DFI RS482 i jsut picked up. along with.. i have no clue for ram. maybe a gig stick of ocz pc4000 platinum ? i aint sure. maybe some pc3500 platinum i have sitting here.

From what I have been seeing in this thread alone, I think it's really hit and miss with the X2 3800. But it seems that the Toledo core versions are clocking better than the Manchester versions. I have a manchester core also that I can't even get stable at 2.75 and it's around the same week as this Toledo I just got and I'm doing upwards of 2.95 with it. But as with any overclocking it's just luck of the draw. Just have to get lucky to get your hands on a Toledo. I would say at least LCBIE 0618 and after.
