    cough cough

i have the HZ's and i cant get past 900 without issues.
i dont think these boards particularly like 900mhz or higher dram.

now i can set the fsb higher in windows but it isnt stable.

trying to boot by setting the memory divider to 1000 is impossible. it wont work. it either doesnt boot at all, or you get MASSIVE errors in memtest.
    this is with 9x 8x 7x and even 6x

    HZ

don't worry about Lestat he generalises way too much...........Lestat thinks he's talking for 1000s of users from experience with a single kit of HZ........from what i've seen with other users they are just fine

i'm going to do some tweaking soon.............i'll also test the XS version of XP to see what i can do in terms of SPI speed

here is a quick test at 3.6GHz which gives me a new PB 150MHz slower on CPU and lower RAM frequency.........

My OCZ PC6400 goes up to 500mhz but I can't get my mobo over 450mhz. Tried to raise Fsb & Mch voltage (even +0.3v), it all doesn't help.
Even @ mp 6, 440-450mhz is the max

What bios are you using? I'm using F4C atm (haven't tried other biosses yet)

    dinos22:

Have you tried RAM @ >520 any timings/voltage? My corsair UL can do 500 4-3-3 2.37V easy but no go above 520 any timings. I am not really sure but I highly doubt it is memory limit

    1.59v hehe

something strange was going on at 1.6v goes to windows at any speed but keyboard and mouse don't work..................funny thing is the bios vcore options are in pretty small increments UNTIL 1.6......the next option after 1.6v is 1.8v and 2.0v

    this is with bios F4E

wonder if F3 has smaller increments past 1.6v

Damn, gets pretty satanic after 1.6v huh . Try raising the Fsb & Mch voltage and it might just get stable where your at (3.9). Great results

    Here's a comparison with P5B Dlx @ 3.6GHz. The larger L2 cache of Conroe/Kentsfield makes a difference in Pi.

    1:1

    2:3 ratio

Dinos wtf your 1m pi is way wayyyy slow. and your at 3.8ghz ?. what gives ?
    mine at 3.6ghz 400 mhz FSB 1:1 4-4-4-12 is less than 14sec. i believe.
@ 3.8ghz its right at about 13 seconds.
wierd. why is yours so slow

    odd.

As I just showed, you can't compare Allendale and Conroe. In SuperPi, Conroe will win just about every time because of the larger cache. Allendale/965 is a fun combo to overclock. But that combo will get slaughtered in 32M by Conroe/965. Likewise, Conroe/965 will lose to Conroe/975. All of the Pi records have been done with Conroe/975. That's not just coincidence.

ahhh i didnt notice he had an allendale

the 975 vs 965 is true but there still aint a good 975 baord. and i call the bad axe not good cuz it all has to be done by windows programs for the most part.
i dont care for that. but thats just me ya know.
and the P5W DH yucky i had 2 of them i wont be getting another.

i like my little $145 DS3. franky clock for clock and dollar for dollar i still say its the best board out right now.

OK, 4.1GHz retail conroe + 965 is a good progress already for this combination
Now if anyone showed me retail 9x500 on 965 I'd be willing to get one myself

    Please don't confuse with ES + 965

Or maybe I should get one and see what it does under ss/dice

I'm running retail E6400 with DS4 and I'm stuck at 400 FSB... I can boot without any problems but when I run dual prime I get error. I believe it has to be the RAM, because CPU stress test only works fine.

I have G.Skill 6400 HZ 2x512 MB 4-4-4-12 d9 micron. I tried to run them at 5-5-5-15 with no luck. Any ideas what it could be?
