Got my P5W DH on Friday with the 502 bios, luckily I have a borrowed 830D so no worries for me but I really feel for all the non tech ppl who cant even flash a bios

I only bought the Anus due to the fiasco with my DFI 975X/G replacement (first one did not recognize my ES E66 no matter which bios) not arriving as promised, I was told I would have a board Tuesday and still waiying Friday

Then when the second board arrived yesterday the suplier expects me to pay to send them both back before I even get a refund on the first board..............yer right, I stopped believing in santa clause a looooong time ago
lots and lots of cores and lots and lots of tuners,HTPC's boards,cases,HDD's,vga's,DDR1&2&3 etc etc all powered by Corsair PSU's

Ok, this is it. The last grain of sympathy I had for Asus is gone.

They keep refusing to send me a chip

All they say is "Go to your local computer shop", hell no, they 'll take my computer for 5 days and charge me $ 30 for a 3 minute job

Also, which number should I call for support?
There are 3 numbers on the box, one in Taiwan, one in the USA and one in Germany...
    (I live in Belgium)

Too bad I can 't mail to Portia Chang, she seems to help people out, but I get errors when I try to send her a mail

Mine is one email he got. He sent one back to me leting me know he is on it

On another note, I fina;lly got in touch with that lady Kara for a new chip. First she told me $5 ground and $20 for overnight. Then I asked why I needed to pay more money to get my $230+ board working as advertised.
Then I told her I was told ground shipping was free. She asked where I heard that and I told her Xtremesystems.org. She said "hold". After about 30 seconds she comes back and says, "OK, free ground"
Took my name adress and phone#. Never asked for board serial# or anything.

You need to get like 200 people to hit their phone lines in one day and they will get the message

Ok got my new ASUS bios chip, fedex dropped it off.
Of course ASUS don't specify what the chip has been flashed to... i hope it is something at or above the 0801 bios that they have on their site.

    Fairly quick

I never thought to ask when I could expect mine. I was just happy they agreed to send it for free.

Best case you will wait 24-48 hours, at worst, 4-5 days maybe, depending how they shipped it.

Belgium, my grandparents on dad's side were from there. Guess that makes me 1/2. The other half is Heinz 57 variety I think.

They shipped mine Fedex overnight for the $5. I've already placed it in the MB. Pretty quick and painless.

I talked to an Asus tech today and he told me that the 901 is the one that supports Core 2 Duo. That's what he got when he looked it up in his computer anyway.

Call them back and tell them about fraud, and about the box that says it "Supports Conroe"
Nag them until they send it for free.

    Nice
I think ASUS should be held accountable for their motherboard advertisements, if it says it will run Conroe out of the box, then it should.

Youre absolutely right. I believe they will have to do a mb revision to fix all of these problems. I only bought this board because of the Intel guys said Asus is the best with this platform. So far, its looking like gigabyte and MSI is kickin Asus's ass all over the place on the 975/965.

Im planning on calling them up so i can get a BIOS about the same time when I get my mobo, but dont want to be caught off guard if they ask me about serial #'s or anything like that
