    Talking Biostar TForce P965 Deluxe - 530FSB 1:1 4-4-3-4

After few crappy bios versions Biostar finally managed to fix the overclockability issue(s) of TForce P965 Deluxe board.

The previous versions couldn“t run over 405FSB no matter what setting were used.

With the newest beta bios the problem pretty much... dissapears

    CPU-Z validation

Tomorrow I“ll try the 32M calculation and higher frequencies.
Now it is the right time to take couple glasses of Glenfiddich 21yo

The stock MCH heatsink of the board is pretty insufficient.
IIRC the same heatsink was used on Asus A7N8X (nF2) boards, so go and figure what I mean when I say insufficient...

I replaced the original chipset heatsink with MCX-159R from Swiftech.
The MCX-159R is barely warm while the original gave me burn marks with 1.7V voltage.

The mosfets of cpu power cirquit can also run pretty hot if you are using water cooling or heatsink which have vertically mounted fan (like Tuniq Tower 120, Scythe Ninja, CNPS9500 etc) (= no airflow for the mosfets).

My Fluke IR thermometer displayed 67c temperature with 1.45V vcore while the cpu was in idle state. After adding a fan for the mosfets, their temperature dropped to 42c (loaded).

I“m sure that Biostar knows this problem since there are mounting holes for the mosfet heatsink.

Only the DDR2 overvoltage jumper mod.
    I“m using 2.35V VDDR2.

VMCH is set to 1.68V of the maximum 1.86V VMCH
    No need for higher voltage.

The DDR2 voltage can be adjusted up to 2.2V without mods.
I“ll post the DDR2 VDD jumper mod tomorrow.

There is no need to solder on motherboard itself

flashed to the 0803 bios and fixed my "can't manually set Cas issue"
    got it at 400fsb 1.3825v 6300 retail on water ram 1:1 4-4-4-auto
will tease it out a bit and keep pushing.
happy with the board so far. Chipset does need fan though if your not aircooing cpu!
    it's never fast enough!
