If you don't have a spare DDR2 module you are in trouble!...it won't boot and you can't flash to a later bios.

Maybe G.SKILL could repragram the SPD for it to have a CL5 value?
yes we can do that. change the value to CL5, and that is what we are going to do. however, becasue the bios issue and all of the SPD can not set at CL4.. that just not right. we are discuss with Gigabyte and hope they can fix it

btw we don't have problem for P5B

    question

default system settings for Conroe/allendale CPUs is 266MHz*multiplier

the RAM should be able to handle 266MHz CAS3 right 1.8v?

i got the ZX kit for my DS3 and i can report the same issue.
no boot because of 1 thing. and this is an easy thing to prove.
the default vdimm on all of the Gigabyte boards is 1.9v

this has NOTHING!! to do with CAS 3. NOTHING. infact even dropping the FSB to 200mhz or less the ram STILL will NOT boot at CL3 at no time does this ram boot at CL3. its all about the voltages.
if that was the case then i'd love to have anyone of you explain to me WHY when i change the voltage to 2.2 and boot it boots with CL4 ?

your comments of the system booting to CL3 are false and unfounded.
not only that the ram will not boot at CL4 800 unless its given 2.2v NOT 2.0- or 2.1 as the label claims.
it wont even boot at 2.1 @ ddr667 ? someone care to explain that to me ?

the fact is and still is that this ram needs 2.1 or higher to boot.

my kit wont boot on anything less than 2.2v. that is +.04 in the bios vdimm and EVERYTHING for SPD left on Auto.
once i do that i can boot into windows where every tool known to the community reports the ram running at 4-4-4-12 and thats Auto SPD

i need to know how Gskill wishes to handle this as every conroe board available uses 1.9v as its defualt vdimm. (out of the ones i know of)

i just got it today and am i to be expected to send this ram back to you after less than 8 hours of testing ? infact if i so desired i would catagorize this as non working and non compliant.
i see no reason to do that, i expected to have a working product and gskill knew about these issues and yet still sell them as they are.

will the DS3 work with (G.Skill 1GB 800MHz DDRII NR Series) without BIOS flash? i think it is CL5 timing.
