With the latest shipping BIOS (which is nearly all, some have an earlier BIOS) it posts but does not recognize the CPU correctly and gives a few errors.

I'm not personally familiar with the BIOS codes for this board mate. Let me ask the creator of the CD and see what he has to say.

Edit: Here's the response I've been given:

Might have more info for you shortly regarding your previous question.

Sweet! I already had ordered an 0701 BIOS chip from Asus, but in the future, this should let me flash whatever BIOS I want from CD, right? I won't have a floppy in this new rebuild in my Qpack, and I don't own any USB thumbdrives . I could just add the BIOS to the CD and then use, correct?

Why not just put the BIOS ROM's on some flash memory and use the built in EZ Flash? It works flawlessly for me...

If the cpu isn't supported then nothing works. Neither cd-rom, ez-flash nor floppy. Nothing!
The only guaranteed solution is post with another cpu (if u have one), or hot flashing (if u have one)...

Have to love this. The only unknown CPU problems I've had before just:

Athlon XP mobile - Just had to specifiy manually. It booted up at like 800Mhz.
X2 - Only saw single core until BIOS update.

I'd take either one of those problems right now.

My board shipped with 0502 BIOS, when I stuck the E6700 ES in the system didn't POST. I went to get a Pentium D thinking that I'll need it to flash the BIOS to 602 or 701. Put the Pentium D in, same problem, no POST, just the fans spinning. Took out the OCZ 2x1GB Platinum PC2-8000 XTC ram and replaced it with a slower PC2-6400 Platinum, boom, system POSTs.

Took out the Pentium D, stuck the Conroe back - again, no POST. Reset the CMOS jumper, BIOS screen came up followed by the Chassis Intruded - System Halted error. Reset the chassis intrusion jumper and presto - Conroe boots fine with the Platinum 64000. Replaced the the 6400 with the 8000 - again nothing. RMA'd the RAM and another 8000 seems to work albeit with some weird quirks now and then.

What I am trying to say is for those who are building their Conroe systems with the P5W DH boards and don't get POST right away, it may not be that the board won't support the CPU at all, try different RAM and resetting jumpers first. And like JoeBar said, EZ Flash is probably the easiest way to update BIOS, I use it with a USB data key and it works like a charm every time (I've flashed it at least half a dozen times trying different versions) but the mobo has to support the CPU to begin with.

THIS DOES NOT WORK AS DESCRIBED!!! IT FLASHES YOUR BOARD WITH 0078 BIOS and renders the retail conroe useless. Not only that it would not flash a 502/retail conroe AT ALL. I tried to boot to it and was going to flash 701 to 901. WRONG! After 2 hours of taking the conroe out reflashing with a celeron and putting the retail conroe back in with the 901 bios, I found out the hard way. Please don't post links to this kind of untested crap!. Thanks, but NO THANKS> I AM PISSED!!!!!!!!

As others have said this will only work on boards that already POST in some fashion. If the board won't POST it'll never get to the stage where it would read from a CD, or anything else for that matter.

    Lol
The next time you're having a bad day, imagine this:
    You're a siamese twin.
Your brother, attached at your shoulder, is gay.
    You're not.
He has a date coming over tonight.
    You only have one ass.
