does your video card not work in it ?
because. i might be wrong.. but reading thru my manual and of course with all xfire/sli boards the primary slot is the one next to the cpu.

this baord may not work if you put it into the 2nd slot.. i doubt thats true but it is possible.

also notice there is a jumper thats been removed on the motherboard right above the primary pci-e slot that says 'GPU Select' odd.... i wonder if that needs to be there to run the video card in the 2nd slot ???

it is possible, although unlikely that if you have a bad slot the extra power and chipset cycles could now be directed at the NB allowing a higher FSB.9yes i know an unused pci/pci-e slot is not using anything, its just a thought :\ )

so explain the dud comment and which slot do you have the card in ?
If i have my X1900XT in the orange PCI-E slot nearest the cpu then the pc wont boot, it will power on but wont post. It boots fine when my card is in lower black slot.

The board is unmodded and does 450FSB as pic.

Im going to look for that jumper...

Depents on what memory i think, doesn't matter here, 454 is the highest without mods

ss screen is possible to do higher but can't handle the load of something else

I'm simply awestruck by that. It's beyond my comprehension that he can achieve such a low time at such low clocks. And that looks like only 2x512 too!

Seems like no matter how far the rest of us push the envelope, we will always have something to learn from Team Japan...they truly are the leaders in this art IMHO.
The Japanese run the 4:5 ratio better than anyone. Rol-co's time is still very impressive. You need both a good chip and good board.

As a few people have mentioned, the boards do seem to vary a lot performance-wise. Mine will boot up at 445FSB with no problems.

    Nice job. Congratulations.

This is my best so far.

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../32m12m58s.jpg

The 4:5 ratio is worth exploring. Hideo broke 13mins with less than 3.8GHz. That's because his RAM speed was good.

    nice score too, what cooling?

gonna try that too but need more voltage on the ram , 2.40 is not enough.

ran it on de dfi infinity and hit 536 max @2.65v 4-3-2-8, loosen timings didn't help, maybe with more voltage it will

    Good work Rol-Co

That's really amazing how E6600 progress from step1 to step5

With my Stepping 1 (Revision A1) I needed single phase and disable 1 core to reach 4Ghz benchable - as you can see

Now almost all step5 6600's do 4G on air

Still unmodded?Unbelievable for Asus mainboard. It's not good that only one can reach this fsb.As i can see from your results the memory timings affect the max fsb..

great result. I can't see ram timings in my bios. Where the heck are they ?
How hot does the ram get at 2.4v ?

unbelievable that's a big difference indeed. but this cpu is handpicked out of a lot cpu's, so the 4g was garanteed before the buy.

    @Deadlock7

The max of the board was 454 unmodded, after i put the mod on it can reach 474fsb @ 1.75v

Getting probs @ the memory , you got that right, modded the board for more voltage on the ram but it doesn't seem to help, Corsair 8000UL won't go that high.
the stick's did 536 c4-3-2-8 on the dfi 2.6v but on the asus 464 @ same voltage and not even stable.
i gonna swap memory i think, its holding me up.

I can't boot with any ram at 1:1 above 410 FSB on my P5W, did you have this problem ? I have to run 4:3 above that to post but i can run upto 455 FSB then.

never tried, but before i can't boot above 410-413 , now on 4:3 i boot already on 435 so i think i got the same problem.

but who care's? take set fsb for above 410, the scale is up to 600

    oftopic:
got the same psu here, nice thing's

Awesome results, Rol-co. Keep up good work.

15C ambient is nice. Unfortunately I won't see temps like that in my area for a long time.

Don't think anyone else has picked up on this yet, but isn't what you've described normal behaviour?

The slot nearest the CPU is the SLAVE slot, for Crossfire. The lower black slot is the MASTER slot - the correct one for when you only have one card.

I would find it very unusual that the board would be supplied with a duff PCI-E slot?

I guess I missed something along the way, I thought these boards were BIOS capped at 400FSB? I guess not

What is the max FSB with unmodded BIOS?

    Anyways, very nice results!

Max unmodded was 454-456fsb @1.65v , but you have to get lucky
when you buy a bad one (my first one 397fsb ) it gonna be less.
