    Nice FSB!

On the Gigabyte website it says GA-965P-DS3 got two PCI-X 16X slots but on the picture it got only one http://www.giga-byte.com/Products/Mo...me=GA-965P-DS3

    Expansion Slots
    2 x PCI Express X16 slot(run @ x16, x4)
    1 x PCI Express X1 slot
    4 x PCI slots
    - What does 'run @x16, x4 mean'?

Btw, do you think DS4 will reach same FSB rate as DS3? DS4 got RAID 5 so it looks like a better choice for me . Also, DS4 got two 16X slots, does that mean it has support for CF or SLI?

is that 480+ FSB a boot up speed? or a clockgend speed?

    my dq6 can't pass over 410

can't image that,DS3 gains much fsb more than DQ6

I had a feeling this board was going to be a sleeper. Well good going, those solid state capacitors they have on there seem like a cool idea also.

Vmch and Vfsb are useless for me for the moment.

Incredible! Is it prime stable @ 485? What are the chipset temps like? What RAM are you using also, those are some good timings for 970DDR.

Looks like time to read up on the changes made with the ICH8 Southbridge.

    Grats man!

Could you take pics of the board itself?

And maybe DS4 is even better

    :edit:
    I didn't know that board has a mPGA-479
    :edit²:
    No it doesn't! "LGA775 Intel Core™ 2 Extreme/ Intel Core™ 2 Duo processor*"
So why is CPU-Z saying otherwise?

Could you take a screen with the latest CPU-Z?

Just a pitty 965 doesn't support CF and IDE.

It's 965p chipset, which is made for Conroe. So it should work out of the box (not like some 975X that need bios update)

LOL. Does this mean I can't use my NEC 3550A drive? Or is there some adapter I can use?

yeah but thats what asus said about the P5W DH it even has it on the box but it doesnt support it out of the box.. or atleast has some big issues supporting certain chips.

damn i may just return the p5w and get this board if more people report in that its as good as this guy's
someone with one of the stepping 5 chips report in lol
