It seems that owners of asus P5W DH get higher temps but some don't trust anymore asus probe

My temps with it are 38° CPU and 47° MB with 27.8° ambient

I 've applied AS5 on NB and have a 120 mm fan blowing at .

My P5W DH idles at 45C. It is lower than your temp but I still think it's pretty high. Wouldn't 40C seem more normal or are all P5W mobos running so hot?

I got two 80mm front intake fans, one rear exhaust and one top exhaust fan running full speed.

the mainboard temperature is not the NB-temperature. the sensor must be somewhere near the PCI slots. get a fan and try to find out where it is

an yes: the NB is very hot. use a fan and u ll be at 36°C instead of 50°C. but not the included asus-fan.

How do I check that? My GPU doesn't report ambient temperature (don't know why). Room temp is 28C so I guess that ambient would be 30-32C

What kind of fan can I install to blow on the NB and more importantly, where to install it? I currently have the stock heatsink on my CPU but I'll replace it with the Zalman 9500 which I bought today.
