DFI Infinity 975X/G tested by Tarosa

Tarosa in Japan has begun testing the DFI Infinity 975X/G. I'm not sure the reason for the strange PCIe/PCI readings in Clockgen. Decent results, but Tarosa indicates the board may be picky about memory. As he puts it, "DFI, what's going on?"

Maximum FSB so far is 455. But he's using an E6700 which has a 10 multiplier. His CPU may have just reached its limit.

I probably won't pick up the board right away. I'll let someone else be the guinea pig. I'm too busy testing the Asus P5W DH Deluxe right now.

My feeling about Conroe boards is that they're just a vehicle to unleash the power of Conroe itself which is the really important thing. Some boards may do that better than others. But until all the Conroe boards come out and are tested, that's all speculation. Some of the arguments I've read here for choosing one board over another seem to defy logic.

He just got the board. Give him time. If anyone can get the most out of a board, it's Tarosa. I'm sure he will have more updates.

The Asus board is interesting. I like it better than the Bad Axe. But the BIOS needs work. The 4:5 ratio is not as good as I would like. I have no idea whether this will be the Conroe board I settle on. Most of the boards still have not come out.

Infinity´s for AMD were excellent budget Motherboards.

Anyway, I have seen Intel is pretty much simple (when timings talking in this mobo) compared to the timings in Infinity 939.

There is no Lanparty 975x,even plan.

But DFI have RD600 Lanparty and nforce 5 intel edition lanparty MB,indeed.

the RD600 looks tasty too, Digital PWM, copper sinks, lots of room for insulation I was disappointed to see that the Nforce590 SLI looks to be a tiny notch down in features and has good ol mosfets and such.

personally I have a huge boner for DFI and I'm not making a move to Conroe until a DFI has an LP available...and stable...

I am pretty sure 455 is not fsb limit of the mb

One of the issues I was discussing with a Team Japan member was FSB and multipliers. Some of these Conroe boards do not respond well when you lower the multi on an ES chip. On the Asus P5W DH, for example, I can change the multiplier using Crystal CPUID. But when you start raising the FSB above 425, Windows will freeze up. I'm not sure how the DFI board will respond. I guess we'll find out soon.

Intel N590 from DFI is suposed to have Digital PWM as well, I believe you saw the Nvidia reference board, I don't believe it had even been touched by dfi yet.
