No tax on food (or books afair) in the UK.

Historically, computer parts are converted at $1 = £1 which has always been a rip.

It looks more and more like E6700 for me.

I was told by my rep that I will have these in my shop prior to the July 23 Official Release date. Exactly how soon before 7/23 he could not tell me. I live 35min from them so as soon as there in I will be able to go pick up my order. I hope it more early July instead of late July. I have a few customers systems designed for conroe and I am just waiting on motherboard and cpu.

Ingram Micro is showing me an available date of 7/7/06, don't know how true that is though.

Will keep everyone updated with any info I get.

I wouldn't necessarily read a lot into those prices as far as the USA and the rest of the World goes, here in the UK we get royally screwed over when it comes to prices for anything coming from the US (and most other places too).

Plus, I imagine OCUK have jacked up the prices a bit purely due to it being a pre-order.

I've been informed there should be stock of most, if not all, models of Core 2 Duos as of Monday July10th (at least here in the UK that is)

Here in The Bahamas we pay customs duty as high as 82% and we can't buy any tech until at least a couple of months after its release. i'd like to get in on Conroe right away but the wife has a new baby on the way the first week of july. Might just settle for a Bad axe and 920 overclocked to 3.7ghz

Haha, in the US the VAT (or sales tax) depends on what state you live in. I live in Pennsylvania (6%), but I can travel about 5 minutes out of state to Delaware where there is NO sales tax at all! So you bet I do all of my shopping in Delaware!
