Oh my God.
I think I am going to skip Conroe for this, or get a cheap Allendale.

I'm sure glad Coolaler has this, I know he will bench the snot out of it and SHOW us the results. Can't wait to see Cinebench.
Nobody puts out more ss on a cpu then Coolaler.![]()

Run 3D06You might be the first to break 4K CPU score, I don't think it has ever been done

this is some brutal stuff. All there is to it is to write applications that can use quad cores. This cpu shure does show allot of strenght in benchmarks coded fop multy cores.
Quad cores reveald so soon. Nice colaler![]()
Still right now for the future 2 years i would go with conroe for gaming, this is a legacy chip in my mind it fits the server market more then for average consumer. All thou it all might change in future if Nvidia codes each core to work for one of the Gpu cores. It could be all about drivers. 2xsli GX2 anyone?

It has been done with dual and quad Opterons a few times (Originally Posted by HiJon89

Impressing CPU I must say! And it does not seem impossible to clock it quite(?)alot higher...
Provide a link, becuase I'm pretty sure that is plain BS.Originally Posted by blossa
You are claiming there is a dual opteron system that can get 4000+ CPU score in 3dMark06? You sure you aren't confusing it with overall score? Or did the winky smily mean you were kidding?
Anyways this thread is about Kentsfield and the thread crapping needs to stop.
Thank you so much for all your work so far, Coolaler. I think alot of people would be interested to know about temps (is it 95W TDP and cooler from the picture?), as well as seeing some of the media and encoding benchmarks at overclocked speeds.
In particular I'm curious to see your tpMPEG encode of that file you have at 2.9-3.0GHz so I can compare it to your data from the 2.9-30GHZ Conroe encodes that you did.
Cheers!
