    OCZ leads the way.

After seeing my P4P800 kill 2 WD JB hdds and then not want to play nice with XP i decided to try the new 3700EL gold on my trusty Aopen AX4CMax.This board is NOT a stella overclocker but it isn't slow either.

    250 fsb 1:1 3-8-4-3 at 2.625V.UNBUFFERED!!!!

those are really bad timings, twinmos 3700 can run at that speed with better timings.

    nevertheless impressive

crappy timings yes but this ram is capable of 260+fsb so clocking the chip to its max and having ram 1:1 is a big plus.

Why only 2.625v? Surely that cant be all the board will do. IF not, I bet you could tighten those timings a little. Great bandwidth though

There are no such things as crappy timings at 250mhz !

To be able to run ram at all at that speed in too cool. Plus on the CW board memory timings are less critical than with AMD chipsets.

Nice work ! I still want to see buffered sandra since thats what I'm used to comparing too.

Hell Major, did anyone ever even get that good a score with buffered on an AMD platform???

I have reinstated the p4p800 to see if it is dead so an install will be going on later.I will say the buffered will be less than you think, as the overall fsb is low.

The ram does NOT like voltage so vdimm mods for me are not needed.i tried upto 2.95V and it just created errors in memtest.

My samples are good to ddr502 error free but will go higher at the expence of errors building to a total crash at ddr516.This ram also does not like async on the two boards i have tested it with, so a 3gig cpu is a must as 260fsb is going to be your working max.

    tony .

On some difrent boards I was able to run the voltage much higher than you , I dont have the aopen though .

did you try CL 2.5 3-7-3 for the max at that speed yet ?

BTW I think 502 in memtest is incredible

Good reason then , still great work to get 250mhz. The new OCZ ram is looking great, but not so hot on AMD platforms I hear. Hopefully we might see some more success with AMD later on.

these work well on a AMD platform they just dont do fast timings , now if you have a AMD platform the does 250 FSB then maybe this is for you to ;-)

I've got to say ryanpgroovy, OZC has had a rocky road but I've seen nothing but positive posts about the company and the products in the last few months ! I think I'll try out some my next build.

    Ryan

I ran 2.5-3-7-3 at ddr480 and got around 3000 unbuffered.I have maxed the AX4C Max out now with 250fsb being the limit but it is very fast to that fsb and is 100% stable.Moved onto the P4P800 and one thing I have noticed is that PAT does make a big diference at this speed. The springdale is 200MB/s down on the Canterwood unbuffered.
This ram needs the highest multi cpu you can afford as the key to it is the 1:1 performance.
