Wow, if that works, it makes the x1900gt the best buy in graphics cards at the moment. Someone needs to test, see 16 pipes in ATITool, and compare a pre and post mod test in 3dmark05 and 06.

Ok use ATIwinflash or the flasher in dos, do a force and flash it. Should work if you select the right device.

Something like this has to be too good to be true. An XTX for $300...

Might the x800 Pro situation all over again, in that it doesn't work except on cores where the last 4 pipes were not "broken".

If those last 4 pipes are bad, no way 16 will work no matter how you "unlock" them.

it should at least display "16 pipes", but just have a lot of artifacting, if the unlock worked and I have a bad core. The fact that it doesn't signifies that the unlock method is faulty.

Technically speaking, a 12pipe x1900GT has the potential to OC more than a full fledged r580. That is why you see higher clocks at lower volts.

Hmm its same with my 6800 Le?

My 6800 le was 8 pipe and I can force it to 430/900,my friend unlocked its pipelines,12/5 but he can only run at 400/800.We pushed up,but it gave artifacts,than our pc locked.

And,if we can open 16 pipelines in 1900gt,it wont be 655/1600?

there`s only one R580 core - no such things as XL or pro.
