The X1900GT is a monster in disguise!

I just ran 3dmark05 untweaked on my setup: X1900GT 256MB BBA, Opteron 144 (temporarily running at 2.7ghz, having thermal paste shortages ), and crappy 2x1GB RAM running at 193mhz 2.5-4-4-7.

Thanks to freecableguy, I got a stock dual-slot ATI cooler. I stuck it on and instantly went from 655/830 to 685/855 at 1.375v/2.2v.... what was X1900XT stock vGPU again?

Due to my thermal paste shortages (can't find my Shin Etzu!!! wtf???), I just reused the stock thermal paste on the heatsink.

I scored 11176 in 3dmark05 with such a crappy setup!

    3dmark05 compare link: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2066152

Other owners of X1900GT, post your scores!

x1K cards don't need hard mods for voltage increases

Thats an awesome score for a 12 pipe card. An x1800XT at 700/800 scores lower than that.

Do they have 512MB models of the x1900GT?

I see what I see, and you see what you see. I can't make you see what I see, but I can tell you what I see is not what you see. Truth is, we see what we want to see, and what we want to see is what those around us see. And what we don't see is... well, conspiracies.

i meant vModded in the sense like increased through software

Dont know what to get now...X1800XT or X1900GT. The X1900GT costs £20 more than the X1800XT over here though...

Yes, it's vmodded. Voltage is now 1.375 (still lower than XT stock volts of 1.4!). Both GDDR voltages are at 2.2v (set via Overclocker, since ATI Tool still doesn't support the GT).

I was thinking about getting this and it looks like its a nice little card to compete with the 7900 GT

That RAM goes higher than my X1900XT Though it does do 675@1.35 on the core

I can't tell.... the ATI Tool temp monitoring system doesn't work for the GT cards

In fact, most ATI Tool features don't work for the GT cards

    We need an update w1zzard!

x1900GT currently only comes in 256MB.

I haven't tested lower voltages yet (started out at 1.375), but i can test it out and see if it beats your 675mhz, repoman

Dude, don't leave vddq at 2.2v, you're gonna kill your card. Drop down to 1.9, that's all you should need. VDD is the only one you should really need to increase for ram oc.

I have now AS5'ed both my GPU and CPU. My GPU and CPU heatsinks have been both lapped. The CPU heatsink is the very nice AMD64 stock heatsink.

I've also found a problem with one of my case fans: it was blowing in the wrong direction!

    I'll post more results soon

Yeah, I've always left Vddq at the lowest setting 1.785. Never got any better or worse results with it higher (is this bad?)

OK, my tweaking has been vastly successful!

    I'm doing 720/855 (haven't touched RAM yet) at 1.425v core, 2.2v RAM, 1.9v I/O as recommended.

If I go past 1.425v core, something on the X1900GT makes chirping noises when I do "scan for articacts", so I guess the power regulation isn't good enough to do 1.45v.

CPU is doing past 3ghz again with AS5 application

I used ATI Overclocker for voltage + fan, and ATI Tool for overclocking. The timings, volts, fan speed, etc don't work in ATI Tool.

about that sound.. i wouldnt worry about it.. try upper voltage and see if it is stable and oc-s higher.
if not then its about poor power line..
but it does "whine" with some of X1800XT-s and X1900XT/XTX-ses aswell if u give them more voltage

also some 06 runs would be nice

Is this the GT you are talking about in the first post or an XT??
