What's most chocking to me is the vcore needed. Is that because those are ES or that's going to be the usual when the chips get to retail? 1.58v for 65nm seems like a lot (heck it's a lot for 90nm AMD, but maybe you can't compare that), but if the chip can handle it it's OK for me![]()

Good god this is nice...
I'm still very seriously looking at a Shuttle supporting Conroe...and it'd be really nice to be in that 3-3.5GHz range on the I.C.E. cooler in that kind of a portable LAN box.![]()
Congrats WWM...very nice indeed.![]()

When this all goes retail someone better get a conroe to 6GHz under LN2 in time.
Early ES chips are barely hitting 5GHz...and there's only been a few of those instances...so I'm not sure how quickly 6GHz will come...but I'm sure it won't take long.Originally Posted by epox4life

still waiting for 4GHz on air, maybe a DFI motherboard is crucial

The only real killer DFI was the Expert AFAIK. I've built 10 systems with Ultra-D's and SLI-DR's and not a single issue with any of them. No boards died and no parts at all died in the process.Originally Posted by Repoman
So yes, some DFI mobos are screwed. But most are not.

OK that's disgusting, but based on Collaler's 4 GHz on air with 1.78v, I am calling 4.5 on Vapo.![]()
Which means my everyday gaming rig will SuperPi in the 12's...
