    Allendale @ 460FSB +

Moving up to the B0 stepping and put the Core 2 Dou E6300 1.8Ghz 2MB L2 Cache under the vapo for some FSB testing and to see if the 2MB makes any difference in overclocking.

If my Presler could hit this kind of bus speed it would give the AM2 a brutal beating in bandwidth.

This is the low end chip matching my 2.13Ghz A0 chip in speed and beating it on bus speed. This chip also allows full voltage from the mobo.

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=97732

Both cores enabled, memory timing at 4-4-4-x as I am pushing the FSB.

    Hah nice!
<Jubei301> So I walk into the room with the cat on my shoulder, facing backwards, and my stepdad is trying to watch TV, and I step in front of him, point at my cats ass, and say "ARG! shiver me timbers, its me one eyed parrot" and he laughed for a long time....my mom was just staring at me like im some kind of pervert.

<Jubei301> What? doesnt everyone use their cats brown-eye for their punchlines?

either the other 2 MB of L2 cache that it's missing makes a huge difference or the 2nd core helps a lot in super pi...

Good job Fugger, keep pushing em, maybe try two cores from now on.

is this cpu using less voltage to reach the same clocks as the A0?

Yep, more voltage and single core cannot get me past 477FSB. I am limited on bus speed with this chip. Multiplier is too small.

Then again, almost 2Ghz of bus speed is nothing to laugh at. If it could hit 500FSB, i think it would be the world's first too. =D

This 2MB cached Conroe's are something that i'm very curious.

So FUGGER, is it possible to post some benchies (maybe a real life like bench such as Cinebench ?) that's comparing this one and a 4MB Conroe ? [hope not asking too much from you...]

It'd be great to see how L2 cache differs [ideally at the same clock speeds] since i'm sure this will affect many people's buying decision

    Thanks in advance...

guys the only way to compare the 2 would be to have both the 2.4ghz 2mb vs 2.4ghz 4mb. I havent seen the 2.4ghz 2mb es yet, unless he has a ES and is not locked on upping the multi.

Nice OC fugger. how much this cpu will be priced at? I want to see aquamark on this bus speed. So like 2.8 on air? This could be a budjet gaming system cpu

Sure you're right that it wouldn't be a %100 fair comparison since both CPU won't be running the same FSB (2MB 1.86 should be OCed in any case) yet still i believe that even a comparison like that will satisfy me & people like me

So FUGGER, we're waiting here for a comparison anxiously

while not on a 875 or 965, the ati chipset is showing promise.

i dought much performance(GAMING) difference will be seen between the 2mb and 4mb clock per clock. More of a difference would be seen if the 2mb was using a faster FSB speed.

You right there Evilsizer. I noticed that when i was benching my dothan in AM3. I know that Higher FSB gives me nice boost in games. I testes that with many games and preffer to run best combo cpu speed/fsb. But comparing to my dothan which is very fast in games this budget cpu even @ 2.8 on air with such crazy FSB will do just fine.

while fugger is on phase, im crossing my fingers for a board that can do 400fsb on air. would be sweet im looking at the 2.4ghz 2mb my self, if 400fsb is able to be had on air. I will be saving my pennies for the 2.66ghz 4mb then since the multi is 10x. that would be just OMG AIR 4ghz

A 2MB Conroe will perform the same as a 4MB Conroe at the same speed/bus running two instances of super pi because of the shared cache.

After seeing a comparision of Merom running at the same speed as Conroe, but with much lower FSB it seems like the Core architecture doesn't gain much performance of a higher bus speed (at least above a certain level.) The total core speed has alot more to say. Therefore I think one should buy a 4MB Conroe because of the cache size and the higher multiplier, atleast for running super-pi, but I'm not sure how the improved cache size will improve performance in the really important benchmarks.

    Stock vcore I can boot @ 333FSB

    1.4v I can boot to 30% over 333FSB = 433FSB

    NB @ 1.6v
    Memory @ 2.2v
