overclocking questions (sorry i'm a noob)

    ok here's my setup...

    Abit AS8 motherboard
    Intel 550 3.4HT LGA775
    Corsair XMS PC3200 2x512mb 2-3-3-6
    PNY 6600GT 128mb AGP
    WD Raptor 74gb

i've been using clockgen for the AS8 and my system crashes at around 3.8ghz, i have a thermaltake HSF with heatpipes and a 90mm fan so it stays around 43 deg celcius when it's at 3.8ghz. are there any tips anyone can give me to help me figure out how to overclock better?

    1. This isn't Xtreme Overclocking... (mod please move to Intel section)

    2. Have you tested the max stability of your ram and board first before attempting to overclock your cpu? These must be found before you can attempt to overclock your processor with a 1:1 ram divider, which I assume you are running.
    Formerly XIP, now just P.

raise your cpu voltage in bios, what voltage are you running now (run cpu-z to find out)

    what stepping?
    Is your ram running 1:1?

    In bios
    change ram ratio to 5:4
    change voltage to 1.45v
    push it to 235FSB
