AM2 produces some incredible bandwidth

This from a 1 gig kit, so limited interleave. bench is unbuffered...ram is http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...c_dual_channel
so not the highest end but looks to be an awesome overclocker.

2.3Vdimm on the foxconn AM2 with FX62, all air cooled stock coolers.

Im guessing that is Elpida based ram?

Ive been wondering myself what the deal with 2T is. Ive seen it a lot with the AM2's.

Could be since the lower density double sided clocks that well but my guess is that this is single sided of something else. If thats the case it would make it much better than elpida. (especially since AM2 has issues with alot of ram)

Very nice bandwith Tony, its just a shame that the new boards are having HTT issues like you said in OPPs thread. DDR2 doesnt do a whole lot of good if you are sub 300 on the HTT

I was really hoping AM2 would exceed the bus speed of intel since they have an onboard IMC but so far that appears to not be the case

at 1000...i doubt it, i can run around 800 or lower 1t, the bandwidth is less but the benches are higher(3d that is)

I just dropped tras to 10 and picked up 200mb/s in memtest, i may hit 5600 in sandra with this

Remember on intel its 2t from what i remember ( put me right if im wrong though), so running 1t at 700+ is pretty good on AMD

Ya AM2 apparentally is really rough on RAM. I know in the early kits there was a good deal of concern to find RAM that would be compatible with it since most of what was on the market then has serious scaling issues (like what Im sure you have seen) I just dont understand why AM2 is so rough on RAM, meh I guess we'll find out at some point.

Also yes you're aboslulty right, Intel runs native 2T even with PAT on. That was the unique selling point that nVidia tried to push for their C51 chipsets since they could run 1T up to the rated 266 (but there after would revert to 2T)

I personally wasnt privlidged enough to get a pre-release AM2 kit or I would be posting here as well. That being said your results and those I've personally seen fall in line with what is normal for the platform.

Lol it also seems like everyone is using a foxconn board as well.

I have been away from Intel for far to long....thanks for confirming it was 2T.

Im not sure on IC's on these, I know a few of the OCZ beta testers have it and love it and they mostly have intel rigs so this may be a good budget buy for conroe maybe.

Presently sitting at 3800MB/s in memtest86+,saw 4100 with a 2gig kit earlier. These are numbers i never expected to see on an AMD rig.

Ram clocking in general will continue to favor AMD. Cool stuff, very nice bandwidth.

its all TRAS, lower the better in a huge way, much more than DDR1. I wish 10 was stable here but not to be...anyway, not bad for a low latency 667 part

Heh, you can imagine how I felt when I was beta-testing BT-3. I had a binned set of 1GB and at 1070 5-3-3 my friggin intel rig put out 4440 MB/s @ 310 FSB. Ive yet to see anything like it in terms of bandwith since then.

Reguardless those results look very nice to say the least.

My personal record with DDR2 was from around 19 months ago, maybe more. I hit 5006MB/s in memtest with Micron, the unbuffered bench was truely huge LOL
5-3-2-4 2.3V ddr1000+ on an Asus... I seem to remember talking to Fugger about it as he was pushing some huge memory benches at the time.

Edit...I have that kit here, maybe I will hit 5k again on AMD...LOL

Shame Micron got rid of those chips, oh well. Just out of curosity I went ahead and ran Sisandra for a comparison shot and Im more impressed now after running it:

Yup these are the EPP modules.

Could this be because of brand new boards with an immature bios?
