Also, I'm thinking about setting up the PCs at work with this. I'm behind a firewall...will any ports need to be opened?
I need to get some help from some AMD guysfor you..All my equipment is intel..as for the firewall issue, Rosy will work through a proxy server, that I'm positive on. I use it with 5 PC's at home with no issues but no commercial experience..I'll try and get you someone better equiped to answer your questions

Got the email this morning saying XS needs all the help it can get, I'm willing to setup 4 boxes at work that run 24/7/365 to do what I can. It's just not clear to me how to give XS the credit.

    Thanks
Not really. Not sure if I get the jist of the question... In terms of filling out a forum there is one of the stickies in this forum... 'team members report..' just blast in there and put your name down (your XS name and your Rosetta name.)
In terms of Rosetta itself... when you install the BOINC client it will prompt you for all the setting regarding your name and team etc!

I have a question...I think I read about caching WUs so that when one's done...there's no wait time...looks like my opty has WUs cached but my laptop is not doing it.

What determines this? Is it automatic based on system performance or is it user set?

You should replace the original files to make it works.

Ok I want to join but is this ram intensive or just uses cpu cycles? I have a t2300 Core Duo, A64 3700, and a Celeron 3.4 to dedicate.

It connects, downloads a work unit, machine "crunches" the WU, then sends it back..on a normal cable connection you will never even notice the bandwidth usage. Will work on dial up also.
Questions, feel free to ask..Glad to help out!
