AMD 3700+ woes :( here's the post sam

I bought my 3700+ a few months ago and couldn't figure out why everyone
could do higher overclocks than I. I found out yesterday. See images.

It's a stupid Toledo dual core (4800) i'd guess with one core disabled. This would explain my shotty temps and overclocks.

Stock volts should be 1.3v... Well atleast mine is. Once you break the barrier of 1.6v these chips become an unmanagable beast, moreso with MPS Multi and the works. Before's chip (Yes the guy with the 4200mhz FX-57)and my chip are excellent chips that will do more than 3.2ghz on phasechange and the works. The only diffrence, he needs to run MPS Multi to keep from bugging on SS @ -50*C evap.

^^^ These cpu's are special in most regards, they can take a fair amount of cold, and have a very strong memory controller to boot. They take more TLC than the regular "San Diego" chips.

    CCBWE 3700+

lol, you got a bad dual core stepping turned into a single core. It'll go cold but won't overclock particularly well. Just bad luck. As Stephen has been saying, it looksl ike AMD is trying to transition single cores into dual cores with 1 core disabled.

This is been know for months... I have THE E6 Sandy that he showed. Before has been going crazy benching Pi 1m, So far 24.6xx @ 3300mhz. The downside to this chips, they need more volts than a regular San Diego.
