Super Talent 2GB T800UX2GC4 timings at 667MHz and 1.8v

The newcomer to high end overclocking memory, Super Talent, seem to have done quite a good job with their first modules.

*Note: Because of my current processor and motherboard (see sig) I can't go over 2.1v for the memory or push the speed of the memory any higher than 667MHz. Even so I bought this pair of modules because I plan upgrading my CPU/mobo when AM2 or Conroe comes out.*

That being said, I am very impressed with the timings the Super Talent 2GB (2 x 1GB)T800UX2GC4 DDR2-800MHz memory can achieve at 667MHz and 1.8v.

I know that tRAS makes very little difference in speed, but still I am quite pleased of how low it can go:




I know the following scores aren't very impressive, but it's mainly because of my crappy CPU.

Oddly enough, I actually achieved the highest benchmarks with 3-3-3-2 timings rather than 3-3-3-1 or any other timing (I tested all tRAS from 8-1).







The other latencies wouldn't go lower than 3 even at 2.1v. It may be possible, but I'm thinking it will need more than 2.4v.

Would you mind running a SANDRA Unbuffered test at those settings? You can see which settings I use for unbuffered here.

Super Talent is kicking ass, and those D9GKX chips are to drool over.

The Super Talents are 1GB modules. I'm pretty certain they use Micron D9 chips. They're probably not on Micron's parts list because I don't think they're manufactured anymore.

Remember that they are 2GB(2 x 1GB) DDR2-800. I'm running them at 667MHz because of my mobo.

They are 400MHz modules, not 333MHz. Super Talent could have *easily* gone with D9GDH (333MHz) or something similar, but they didn't. That's probably why these modules retail for such a high price. I have had -amazing- experiences with the chips used in these modules. Buffalo is soon to release some FireStix DDR2-800 modules that also use the chips.

The only place to buy them in the States that I know of is eWiz. They are only $290 atm.. they have literally gone down $100 in the last month.

As for the Buffalo, they are not out yet. Probably will hear about them in the next month.

Unfortunately I don't have Everest installed on my benching drive. I'll do that later today. Have to run out now on errands. With enough voltage, the Super Talents should be able to do 400 @ 3-3-3. As you probably know, it's hard to do a lot of experimenting with the AOpen board because of the limited number of ratios.

Here's Sandra unbuffered. I used your settings, Deathspawner. I tested both 3-3-3-1 and 3-3-3-2 , and, unlike in the other tests, 3-3-3-1 did a tiny bit better than 3-3-3-2, as it would be expected.

Did you happen to compare the differences between tRAS 1 and tRAS 8? I wouldn't expect too much difference from your tested 1 and 2, but it would be interesting to see the difference from 8.

Yes, that's what I implied :P

They are the same chips that Corsair use for their 1066MHz modules. Proth has gotten those modules to 600MHz.. so those 333MHz chips can go quite far.

As for EVEREST, version 2006 is absolutely horrible anyway. I trust 2005 (2.22) far more than 2006.

With 2005, my WRITE speed is around 3000, but with 2006 it's 7,500? Ya, I'm sure.
