Just be very careful because there is a chance the voltage could spike fairly high while adjusting the VR while the card is running, enough to fry card!

i have vmodded my cards now and i am testing them seperately. (had 1.5 v bios mod be4), and @ 2.22 on mem i manage 1300+ ( havent tested higher yet, and @ 1.6 i am not sure but i ran 3d mark @ 560 ( without delta) and VERY little artifacts, maybe 5 artifacts :P

E! i cant get over 9700 because i have 2 little cpu powah.. i manage 600/1300 on my 7800 GT and i have another vmodded card but it need ramsinks

Now i have it @ 1.65v on core with WC (L20+honda civic radiator+Alphacool NVXP3 nVidia 6800/7800/7900+2 TT thunderblade),vmem @ 2.2v with pencil mod.











5mins of Atitool + Rthdribl @ 500(+70delta)/1300 45ºC,with an ambient temperature of 28ºC.




@ 460(+70delta)/1300





I can OC @ 525(+70)/1350,but i have a few artifacts,maybe i need to raise to 1.7v ^^

I Bench my 7800GT @ at 653/1340 with a Vcore of 1.8v. My 24/7 use at 570/1280 Artifact free was 1.64v/2.4v. Around 1.7/1.75v will clear up those few artifacts your getting around the 610mhz mark but i wouldnt run this 24/7 dude.

Can anyone provide pictures for me to follow? I have 2 x 7800GT's in SLI with VF-900Cu LED's on them...I have already done the BIOS Mod, with 1.5Vcore, and tighter Mem timings...I just can't find a good picture guide that tells me what I need to do and how...

thanx, will try it as soon as i get some "pots" hehe.

my gainward 7800gt "golden sample" oc to 493/1200 wiht the 1.5v bios mod, hope to squise the hell of it with a hardmod.

now its done, but i did a mistake... i spilled some led on the backside of the card right at the place where the gpu core is. but i did manage to get all of the led of. but the question is where do i meausure the volts.

card is clocket at 525/1355 right now. and not to warm.

how safe is 1.65v on air? temps are low 60's atm, but i could get a zalman or something if there are any better coolers out there.

I keep getting hardlocks in certain games with core over 510Mhz. Vcore = 1.5v via BIOS. The sound will loop and the whole system hangs. Never any artefacts.

Is this normal behaviour? I can bench higher easily.

Memory is unmodded and at 1250Mhz. Lowering this wont help the crashes, they seem to come from the core alone.

Hi Guys,

i got 2 XFX 7800GT watercooled by Innovatek g70 Cool-Matik in SLI.
Because they show artifacts at 480/1200 they run at stock 450/1050.
Now i like to try the hardware voltmod.

A few questions:
1. Do i have to care about anything spezial becuase of that SLI setup?
2. I read about the GEO on my cards is set to 0. I can change that to 40 via Bios Update, right?
3. What Volts are quite safe for 24/7 while both Ram and GPU is Watercooled and normaly around 38 Degree. Watertemp is at 26 Degree.

OK I like what you did here but I have some questions .
First what type of resistor are you using ? (for both gpu and mem).
Second what is that thing in the last pic you have and what video card is it ?
I would like to try this volt mod on my BFG 7800 GT/OC and my EVGA 7800GT and see if I can get better speeds from them as they both seem to run a bit under clocked for me
Also how hard is this to do ? I mean I have tryed the bios volt mod but that was not good as I cant seem to get the program nvflash to work so there is no doing the bios thing any way .

2nd pic with the mem mod. The SMT came off and I need to know if anyone has a schematic of the 7800GT so that I can make sure that I'm soldering the correct points together since I'm just going to skip soldering in a new SMT(resistor) and just solder in the potentiometer? Any help is greatly appreciated.
