This is poetic justice for all of us who hung out in the INTEL section during those miserable early Prescott's idling at 60c and that nasty 915/925 chipset...
bout time!
This will be a watershed moment for INTEL... kinda like when the 2.66/2.80 Northwoods came out and the race to 4gHz was On!! I remember DDTUNG and JCViggen putting up the "near" 4gHz moments... then when 3.06 with HT came out... INTEL was doing well... for a short while 
Who knows...maybe it was all a big con... let AMD take a little lead, build new fabs, spend lots of cap $$$$...increase their overhead and BAM!!!
INTEL pulls the string on AMD... stock prices plunge, fabs close... bankruptcy to follow? Intel could put a fork in AMD by releasing a KILLER mainstream chip line starting at <$200 that'd beat the FX-60. Oh! OOOpppssss....THey are already DID that!!! Welcome CONROE!!!
