Perfectly stated. You really deliver coolaler. Is that a huge block of Dice I see sitting in the pot? Keep up the good work. That kind of cooling begs for vmods.

that's just silly, it's still the WR, just tied for the next few minutes/hours until coolaler decides to break it.

    Here are the details:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=2165

    He was on LN2.

Edit: Actually this is a GREAT comparison. A 3.18GHz Core 2 Duo gets an identical Score to a 3.75GHz Core Duo. That means an IPC improvement of 20%... Intel was EXACTLY right when they said Merom would be 20% better than Core Duo.

You guys want to know something SHOCKING??

This new line of processors is no big deal for Intel. These CPU's are the replacements for the 9XX series, lol... that means that EVERY freekin' DELL $699 with a Conroe will pull 20s superPi times default, lol...

Just wait til Intel releases the BIG dogs.

    Has AMD just become irrelevant?

Fry's Electronics in 6 mos. will have a E6500/ECS Mobo combo for $229 lol!!!!!!!

Makes you want to cry, don't it. Joe Blow's cheap DELL will be faster in spi then most on this forum right now.

I remember someone in the know on this forum saying that AMD had more then was being shown. Time will tell.

Indeed, a top binned 3.33GHz Stock Core 2 Extreme with an unlocked multiplier will be a sight to behold.

Though, I think you are referring to something else...

As soon as someone gets their hands on an XE Conroe, we will see 10s SPi times if Iteration's chart is anywhere close to right.

Speaking of, I just updated it with the latest available data:

I found that a power curve matches the real data much better (better Chi^2 on a least squares fit):
