    Will this compressor survive R-22?

    Copeland RSN2-0050-IAA Compessor

    115v /1PH /60Hz

    Medium tempitur R-12 compressor

    4,240 BTU/h at 20F; -6.67C; 266.49K

    FLA-9.0A ( 1035W ); LRA-18.0A < Thats wrong it is 51-LRA (Pointed out by Hl4life, thanks)

    850 watts

    600Ml Minerol Oil

The above info was given to me by another guy on www.Phasechange.com about the compressor, I have not found ANY info on any searches that I've tried. I'm all so trying to get more info on it. If any one knows any better detials I'd greatly value your input as I have no definit idea other then the model number lol (And it is a very nice old plant so I don't want to kill it)

I all so need to find out what start capaciter to use for high torque starts as I'm going to be implimenting a pump down system with it.

Hmm RLA is 9 amps and LRA is 18 amps??? Are those numbers right? Normally the LRA should be 5 to 8 times that of the RLA. My 1hp rotary is 62LRA and 10.3RLA. Seeing as its a 0050 that would be a 1/2hp.. so workin with that id say the the LRA is more like 32~40.

Yes it will work on R22 but it won't be as efficient as it would be if it was using R12,R134A,or RS-24 mainly because R22 compressors have a larger compression chamber.
