    Intel Yonah/Merom ** results & discussion -thread **

Ok, I'm the first with my results. I think the fsb-wall come only from the cpu's and the AOPEN i975Xa-YDG is not the reason ...
    CPU :Intel Core Duo T2500
    M/B :AOPEN i975Xa-YDG
    MEM :2GB Crucial Ballistix PC6400
    HDD :Samsung S-ATAII 200gb
    VGA :6800GTO @ Quadro 34000
    POWER: Cooltek Realplug 600W (4x12V)
    CPU COOLER:XP90C / Yateloon SL 90mm (silent 5V)
    OS :WIN XP SP2

decent OC there. But why not push up VCORE and try for more? Or have you already done that? Also what volts to those Ballistix??

this is the maximum from the Board. 2.15V vdimm an 1.5V vcore. More ist not 24/7-stable with silent air-cooling. I have a "fsb-wall" @ 235MHz and it doesn't matter which multi or divider I use.

Well I have seen others SS showing 1.504 or something in CPUz when they pick 1.5V. Yours is 1.4XX hence, I asked to go up and push. Anyways still urs is a good one with lower Power-Consumption .

The voltage de-/increase from 1.48-1.51V in cpu-z. In idle from 1.5-1.51V. The result is ok and very cool for 24/7 .

Anyone have temps for these? What do they do under full load and OCed? Just in the 30Cs?
Currently building my i7 920 rig
    i7 920 - Gigabyte x58-UD3R - 6GB Corsair DDR 1600
    GTX285 - Intel X25-M + 1.2TB - Watercooled

voltage regulation is probably not the best hence the different voltages......but you do need a vold-mod to go higher

still can't believe how bad these mobos are with such a low FSB wall.......they better fix that quick.......hopefully the other motherboards are all coming out soon as well..............anyone know anything?

it would be good if someone could compare results with a dual core A64 and Yonah clock for clock with similar RAM speeds/timings in terms of GFX performance and other general benchmarks.....we all know how good these are in SuperPI so no need to for that comparison that's for sure

@forumer: why did you raise the volts to max allowed.....was it necessary to get it stable at those clocks? can you try and OC with default vcore and let us know how high it will go......

The temp is 10° to low. In idle i have 9-12° . IT's important by my Yonah to hold the Temp under 30° to get the max. fsb @ 232/233MHz. Cooling and vcore is very important.

With default voltage until 1.4V is 200x12 a problem by my rig. I think the best voltage is ~1.4-1.6V for good results.

Change the bootstrap settings to 200MHz (800Mhz QPB) if it has any settings like that.

I see your running alot of prosseses in your task bar.

My desktop is running 29 with all the vital bits like antivirus etc. If you can lower yours then the performance will even get better.

I tested it on my laptop in the beginning after clean installation I got 37secs in super pi 1mb. After having 55 procceses running the time jumped to 39secs.

    ^__^

Is that stable under dual prime / dual 32M Dumo? I have noticed that the stock cooler does not cut it when doing dual pi / dual prime stability testing...

My Dual Prime would keep crashing out on me due to heat. I don't know how accurate the temperature sensor is, but after 2x Prime crashed, I felt the heatsink and it was burning HOT. That small hsf can't dissipate the heat fast enough when both cores are at 100%. I ended up slapping a P4 IHS onto my Yonah, then used a beefier cooler. With the stock heatsink, it was only dual prime stable at 2.4GHz, as opposed to 2.65GHz which is completely stable now
