    HolyAk,
Forced flash ( /f ) should do the trick.

    Driver,
You forgot to refer the source of that guide.

    edit:
That's a pretty useless guide anyways.

Yup. After I did my first (and hopefully only) hot flash I just left floss under both bios chips just in case. Doesn't look great but it is much easier than going after the bios chip with a paper clip or even a "real" extractor.

that's such a good idea, I should've thought of that the last time I had my BIOS chip out...

I cracked the housing on my P4gpl-x before I had a real extractor and had to try and glue it bak together..

If you're in the US I could hotflash your chip, just cover S&H fees.

If you have not done anything to your bios since you flashed it initially, all you may need to do is power off and clear cmos. The 329 bios needed to have that done after flashing for me. The 406 I believe is derived from it.

You made sure both chips are identical (same P/N) ?

If positive, just flash using Winflash 1.54.

    Winflash's here:

Indeed,I had the same problem(4 leds, thought I killed it) with 406bios all I had to do is clear the Cmos.

my hotflash been success finally....i found few problem b4 im able to flash bios on different platform..

"it is not a award bios " only happen on old awdflash"older than 8.5 version"
"the program file's number does not match you system" command "/py" seems cant fix this for flashing a nf4 bios on a nf3/2 motherboard.. i simply put /qi/py/sn/cc/cd/cp/ld/nbl to make it work
command "/f" completely useless ..it will make my flashrom freeze..

@ Driver - I can't believe you did not give Tmod credit for that information (or at least post the link to short media). His work on the DFI Bios Flashing and Utility CD has prevemted agony for many. Please have the courtesy to edit your post (or better yet, simply provide a link). I'll edit my post when you have.
    Thank you.
