SO I gather to hit 11K in 05 is a big deal, is that just on the vga OC, or including OCing the CPU?

I should be able to get damn close of not hit 11k with my 148/evga 7900GTX with the 1.5Vmod?

Assuming I can get a stable 2.9 oc, as I did hit 2.9 before, just didn't work on getting it stable. and that was on air cooling, after I get the wated installed........if ever i do.....then if the Mod/OC gods love me I will get a decent oc out of my beast.
fermiNow Dave will see FERMI where ever I go

    Well for a standard 7900gt yes....but for your evga 7900GTX No....No vmod needed....just o/c your cpu as far as it goes stable....then run 3dmar05....see what you get....if it don't hit 11k just o/c card a bit....but you shouldn't have a problem

I would think a 7900GTX should hit 11K in 3dmark05 with ease, even with no volt mod at all. My 7900GT does 12K plus at 1.5v and 724 on the core. So I think a GTX should do better than that. Thats with a opteron 165 at 2.7. So if your single core opteron can do 2.9 you should be able to break into the 13Ks with a GTX I would think.

Is this the right spots? (the green drawing)

But do you think the stockcooler can handle 1.3v?

Do not look for artifacts. Its a waste of time, and half the time they are not visible. A better testing methodology, is as long as you consistently get higher scores as you clock higher, things are working ok. If you can run 3-5 quick consecutive 3DMark runs, chances are, its heated up as far as it will go, and its stable.

If using same clock Vgpu, Vmem, and CPU clock speeds, and same drivers, you still get different results, chances are, the guy with the higher results went into the nVidia driver and changed image settings from 'quality' to 'high performance' as well as increasing the LOD in rivatuner, (click directx settings button and its one of the first few tabs)

But I don't have an account on the orb, so I can't see what drivers they are using.
Changing clock speeds in BIOS is dangerous. The delta thing is how much faster the geometry processing part of the GPU runs than the other parts. Its typically in the 0-50 range (20 default for 7900GT). Changing to something else within that range will have at best a small difference).

The IC that controls the voltage supplied to the GPU has precision of 0.05V. However, the pin that controls +0.05V is already connected to Vcc (you are stuck with no +0.05V option, unless you are expert technician in cutting traces, or you connect it to gnd anyway - im not comfortable with that. aka the 1.55V mod)

The best volt modding option is the conductive-ink mod. You can connect D508 to gnd for +0.1V (1.3V) or D5111 to gnd for +0.2V (1.4V).. doing both will give you 1.5V. What do you need smaller (+0.05V) intervals for?

And regarding over-volting and 1.3V. Sure, whatver. People are using stock heatsink even with 1.5V.. Obviously that results in the little dinky thing getting very very hot.. but hey, if the worst happens its not my video card thats going to die. Besides, by using inaequate cooling like the stock heatsink, you are inevitably limiting your overclocking potential.. you've already spent $300+.. whats $20 for good heatsink?

Why would you be concerned about the CPU? It might only give you a bit more on GT1 of 3DMark2005. Likewise, getting higher speed memory, and/or tighter timings would also increase by a few 3DMarks. If you are comparing to other people's high scores, chances are you should look into changing driver to "high performance" and increasing LOD.. these will make BIG difference (certainly more than overclocking your CPU even higher).

Like I mentioned earlier, dont jump the gun, and try something like 650/1800 right away. Test at regular intervals and make sure your score is going up each time. If it goes down and/or you have artifacts, its either overheating, not getting enough power, or reached its limit.

chances are you would get higher 3DMark2006 score with lower clocks.. ie, you've probably gone beyond its limit.

Wow, looks like 84.43 is the driver to have. 13422 in 3dmark05 is an amazing score with 550 on the core. Thats stock clocks for the overclocked models.

Dern I gotta try out that driver when I get a change. Wonder what 700+ on the core with that driver would do?

EDIT: Hmm, looks like that could be an SLI score. Maybe not as great as I first thought.

It is an SLI score, however it is an improvement over 84.25. At least on my system it appears to be so far.

    Here's my 3dmark05 with nvidia 84.25. 05 with84.43 is about 2500point higher!!!

    Hi all.
Got my Club 3d 7900 GTX couble of weeks ago but only now had the time to test it. Had to say that Im little disapointed for it. Here are the results:
    Stock Speeds: 650/800
at these settings 3dmark05 gave 9970 points
    3dmark06 gave 589x points
The Max OC that i could run was core 690Mhz and mem 839Mhz tried to run the core litle lower and boost the memory but no go here. The scores at the card OC'ed were: 3dmark05 10480 points
    3dmark06 6225 points

    My rig is: AMD64 X2 4400@4800 (220FSB) 2Gb Corsair LLPRO 3500 at 2-3-2-6-T1 220MHz. Drivers at use: Nvidia 83.21 and nForce4_x16_6.82

I wouldwe expected a litle more from the memory the 839 feels little too low =/ Tried to run CPU at 2.6 GHz but not stable there =/ So any suggestions how to improve my results ?
