What would you get out of these...

I can either upgrade my computer with either one of these for my gaming system that currently is using an msi ge4 4400 and maxtor 40gb ata133....

    1) 9700 or 9800 pro

    2) 9500 non pro (soft mod it) and 2x36.Xgb wb raptors for raid.

What do you think? I'm just getting a barton 2800+, and an asus a7n8x 2.0 to go with my vdd modded 8rda+. I think i'm going to sell 1 or both to get either an Abit nf7-s 2.0 or a seltek nforce2 w/raid.

I would go for a 9800 and overclock it as I believe it would give you a much better increase as apposed to getting the 9500(modding it) and the raid...

Go with the 9800pro, there's too much risk with the 9500np and the soft isn't working with the latest one, i've heard that they changed the design (need to confirm)
The raptors are SATA drives? if you really want to go sata, i advice you to wait, the technology isn't mature yet

I would suggest getting the 9700pro and running omega drivers and oc it with rage3d. the preformance gain from a 9700 pro to a 9800 pro isnt worth the extra money, at least for me anyway.

I bought a 1700+, nf7-s 2.0, 2x256 twinmos 3200 bh-5 chips, and a smartfan 2. The deal for the 2800+ and a7n8x fell through so I got this instead. I'm still gonna get these thing within a month when my taxes get here...

    9800 Pro
    2 x 36gb WD raptor sata
    2800/3000/3200 one of them
    case and water cooler

They will be bought in the order listed unless the 1700+ is a dud of an overclocker, then I will buy the cpu before the sata drives.

got a hercules 9700 pro oem red on the way that I bought on ebay. also i had my 1700+ running in my 8rda+ 2.5 12x200 1.7v, and now that I got my nf7-s 2.0 i'm burning in 11x210 1.65v 2,2,2,4 sync as we speak. Still waiting for the ram and video card to get here, so I'll have more updates coming...
