And about MAXMEM, it's mainly used for RAMdisk now.
You say "expensive"...mine is "free", i.e. the RAMdisk by free software.
You can download it from the URL below:
    http://www.vector.co.jp/soft/winnt/h.../se108927.html
Yes it's a japanese free software, but don't blame me...
    My usual setting is:
    <img src="http://222.151.185.113/c-board/file/ERAM_setting_usual.png">
This setting gives 393216kB RAMdisk as Z: drive.
The disk image area is derived from main memory,
so we need to restrict amount of memory used for system,
    by MAXMEM description in boot.ini.

In early times, MAXMEM itself was effective for SuperPI...
...yes SuperPI, but especially for SuperPI Japanese version.
I don't know why it is so, but very effective on the system using Celeron.
Now, for SuperPI mod1.4/1.5XS, MAXMEM itself has little effect, I think.
    Hello Kyosen!!!

I tried to download the above programm but i think that i have to register first and then download it....but i don't know any Japanesse....

Could you give us a link with a direct download???

At MAXMEM what do you use???105?
When Mercedes brought their C111 to Talledega years ago and blew away the closed course record did it count? Yes..
That was a "factory" car and a "one of" that no one could buy and was never sold.
Records are records and that is a fact so get over it.

Why do you need exactly this ramdisk soft? There are many available and not in japanese And BTW, source is available, might as well translate a few label lines and recompile

    Good point of view, FUGGER
    I checked both T2600(ES) and T2300 at 1.66G(x10 multiplier),
and noticed that stepping:4 is slightly slower than stepping:8, regretfully
    SuperPI-mod1.5XS 1M time
    T2600(ES): 35.313s
    T2300: 35.156s
    Screenshots are here:
    http://www.oohashi.jp/c-board/c-boar...ne;no=4289;id=
The difference is about 0.4%...How do you feel it!?...
I feel that it's "desperate" difference,
    so now I've got a retail/regular T2600

    > At MAXMEM what do you use???105?
    --
I think that MAXMEM itself has little/no effect for mod-PI1.4/1.5XS,
though I still use it as tuning purpose for 1M running.
Suitable MAXMEM value may vary for each systems...
...it depends on whether you disable needless services or not, etc.
But I must say again, Now, main purpose of MAXMEM is
reserving memory for RAMdisk, at least in my case.

I don't know exact menu names in English Windows,
but I hope this instruction is helpful for you!

Go "Control Panel", and start "Add Hardware".
Choose "Yes, already connected" and go
    "Add new hardware device"
    "Install hardware selected from list"
    "Show all devices"
    "Use disk"
    and choose ERAM2000.INF file.
Once rebooted, then go to Control Panel again.
You should find ERAM menu there.

The retails got the multiplier unlocked downwards by Enhanced Speedstep technology where Engineering Samples have it unlocked on a lower hardware level - and only downwards like the retails.
In my experience lowering the multiplier by Enhanced Speedstep can give you bugged scores and games running out of timesynch (runs faster). Not suitable for 24/7 use... can be usefull for some benchmarks.

There been some previews from Asia on the green PCB samples of the motherboard - max FSB = 265MHz FSB (by jumper).
Toms Hardware made a test of the "final" black PCB version, but did no overclocking in the test.
Hardware.no (Norwiegan text) also did a test of the black PCB version and did some overclocking - they reached 199MHz wich they claim is maximum (maybe they overseen the jumper found in the japanese preview?).
