    S478 on DryIce

After getting 5.04GHz from my Prescott ( http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=571 ) on Alu DI container I`ve decided to go get some more...
Bought myself copper container from kiwi

    Polished it like so:

Got me some DI and I was ready to get more !

    But, sad things happened!
After testing my ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe with an ES on FSB350+ ( to check stability on high FSB) I found out that MoBo is dead ...
Having not enough time to go to get to the shop where I bought it, I found that the only MoBo i can use for this OC is P4P800-SE moBo. Because this MoBo can only give no more that 1.6V on Prescott I did not expect any good OC anymore. But that didn`t stop me from OCin`
Second bad thing about P4P800-SE is that on the particular MoBo i have had CPU fan frame can only be removed by damaging it, so I did not remove it.
That also didn`t stop me from serious OCin`

Especially for this OC I have finally bought myself a digital camera

    My OC setup:
    P4 Prescott E0 3.0GHz
    ASUS P4P800-SE (Gold)
    Kingston KHX3200AK2/1G (Winbond CH-5)
    Galaxy 6600GT AGP
Q-Tec 500W PSU (i know that you`ll say to be aware from this PSU but it`s fine - it can hold FX-57 @ 3.9GHz + 2x7800GT without any problems...)

First (test) run shown that CPU idle temp was -39C

Firstly I was gonna get some Suicide shots...
    Here`s the highest validated : http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=81613
I also reached 4900MHz (but forgot to save validation file).
    For 1.6V I think it`s not so bad ...
    System running :

Then I decided to bench it. The best I could do was 4.6GHz SuperPi 1M

The reason why the result is so weak because I did not want any speed - I just wanted to reach the highest SuperPi 1M freq, so RAM was running FSBDR 3:2 @ 2.5-4-4-8. I did not run CPU-Z in the background because the whole system freezed after this run, so the best I could do was only to take a photo.
I also ran locan benchmark called "BootMark" @ 4.45GHz and achived 12882 points in it...

    It`s not bad for 1.6V Prescott ...

Then strange things have happened. The system failed to boot a couple of times so I decided to reset BIOS. OK, system starts now, but starting BIOS the whole system freezes. After a couple of restarts I`ve set the BIOS settings right and Started Windows.
That was the most shocking thing:
The whole system settings were reset - all the drivers were Windows stock, the desktop has changed to winXP default, the system settings have changed to WinXP default.

The worst thing was that ClockGen did not run. System shown " ClockGen.exe is not a vilid Win32 application"

After that I did not have enough time to set the settings back because:
1)I was running out of DI
2)I have made a mistake by giving too much aceton in the contrainer, so it bagan to expand and could not fit anymore in the tube.

All that has made me to spot this DI run.
    System "unfreezes"

But I gonna get me some LN2 and will try it one more time in April...

how did you mount the DI tube..?

I got a 3Ghz P4 to 4.5Ghz in Mach II for like 2 years ago I believe, this was a northwood.. at 1.72v.

Very good question. Answer - absolutely nothing (except its weight) did hold it. If there would have been a wind it just would fall off. The reason because nothing was holding it is that f****** ASUS engineers decided to make CPU fan holder that can`t be taken off without any damage to it..., so I couldn`t screw it to the MB

On mine P4C800-E Deluxe it also went easily out, but this mobo is dead.
When are your mobos manufactured ?
This P4P800-SE is made on 3rd week of this year...

For my next OC (hope to use LN2) i will use fully modded P4C800-E Deluxe, so modding P4P800-SE is useless, of course, if P4C800-E Deluxe will not break in the last moment, as it did yesterday.

No, thanks Kasparz. I think that my Q-Tec 500W will be capable of LN2 run.
The biggest question for me now is: where can I get LN2 in Latvia ???

I don't understand why you can't remove the factory P4 retension bracket.
Can't you just use a small flat head screwdriver to pry the 4 little white plugs up and then carefully remove it?

The reason is that the backsides of 4 little white plugs are bigger (wider) than the holes in the Mobo so they can`t technically be removed...without any damage

1)This is my left hand - I used my right hand to shovel the Dry Ice in to the tube
2)I used gloves (you can see on the photo in attachments)
3)DI is not THAT cold - I have even put it in my mouth for fun for about 10-15secs...

I took the heatsink retention brackets off a P4P800-SE. It should be very easy.

there`s something wrong with those new P4P800-SE boards. (my is made in January `06). The white thing (yep it`s the one that is in the back side of the mobo) is wider that the hole in the mobo...it doesn`t fit !
AAAAAAAh, who cares about it now ?

Stop telling me that PSU is bad... it isn`t.
    If it easily powered a 5.1GHz (1.8V) + 6800GT system a previous time why can`t it stop 4.7GHz (1.6V) + 6600GT system from OC more.
