    450+ posts and not much has happened yet but the anticipation is tremendous.

    What's the eta for the first boards ? Dumb question time ..is the version of Superpi that people are using now multithreaded or not? If it is then it's going to get a real bashing soon. Otherwise it will be interesting for 3dmark06 results.....

    Regards

    Ahh, thanks for clairing that up, cause i wasn't quite sure about yonah. But I think 8x will be the lowest you will ever need. The question was more like if ES's are upwards unlocked or not

    The superpi we use is not multithreaded, but initial results have shown that Yonah is much faster than Dothan per core, so it will be a real bashing even in single-core applications. And well, in 3D the FX60 will be easily beaten

    Sorry for not editting my previous post. For some reason my clipboard doesn't work anymore so i can't copy-past

    all mobile ES'es have locked multipliers (incl p4 etc)..
    advantages? ES yonahs are available in numbers (at least in ebay).
    also.. bragging rights?
    often ES chips oc a bit worse than retail ones, because ES chips could be used
    as early qualification samples etc..
    remember 780? all early ES chips had problems with lower multipliers + high fsb when cpu speed was over 3.2ghz or so..

    motherboard arrived!!!

    I start playing with MSI 945GT Speedster Plus
    <img src="http://222.151.185.113/c-board/file/MSI_945GT-S%2B_all.jpg">

    The BIOS has not any setting for voltage,
    so I've done Vcore-mod
    <img src="http://222.151.185.113/c-board/file/945GT_SP_Vcore-mod.jpg">

    ClockGen-1.0.4.2 is available, but unfortunately, there is FSB limitation
    around 210MHz...owe to PLL(ICS954129) specification, I wonder.

    SuperPI mod1.5XS: 1M -> 22.547s @2721.04MHz
    <img src="http://222.151.185.113/c-board/file/22.547s_Yonah_2721..04.png">

    SuperPI mod1.5XS: 8M -> 4m18.797s @2715.74MHz
    <img src="http://222.151.185.113/c-board/file/4m18.797s_Yonah_2715.74.png">

    I'll try Vdimm-mod later
