Unhappy My Ballistix about to die for the 3RD TIME .... recommendations?

My 3rd RMAed set of 2gb Ballistix is showing the same symptoms as the 2 sets I sent back before. Sudden blue screens, random reboots, and I've been forced to raise vdimm to gain stability. Looks like they are about to die again. I've had it with this ram so I'm going to get something else.

Looks like my 2GB options are OCZ Plat EB, Mushkin XP4000 Black, Team Cronus, numerous g.skill sets. Anyone still on their surviving Ballistix? And those who changed over replaced their Ballistix with what comparable ram? Thanks!

Is your ballistix the 16TD or 16TD1? Supposedly the new 16TD1 which are coming out for all RMA's have a fixed PCB and don't die.. but we'll see

Anyway if you can't get a refund for the ballistix, just RMA them, they are still the best RAM around while it works. If you can get a decent sized refund, it's your call then, if you want new RAM I'd suggest some PC4000 infineon 3-3-2-8 stuff

Just received my Ballistix back from RMA.
    Mine are indeed the 16TD1.
If anyone else can confirm these sticks will not die, I will happily hold onto them, however I already have a sticks of Mushkin XP that is doing 265MHz (I know, ballistix will KILL 265MHz ) but I'm thinking I'll just ebay them and get it over with.

G.Skill and mushkin have some impressive 2GB kits, i dont really like corsair their support sucks from many experiences ive read\heard about.

I got my .16td1's in from rma last week. I'm gonna test them once my Cronus 4000's arrive. Whichever does best and appears most stable, I am keeping. The Crucial people have told me that this new revision has fixed the problems with ballistix sudden death syndrome, or BSDS as I like to call it.

Definately check to see if it's 16TD or 16TD1. If it's 16TD, you might wanna RMA it and try one last time. Otherwise, I think UCCC is nice, like the Gskill 2x1GBHZ DDR500. Crucial ballistix are still the best around.

most of the time 2.6v with 3.2 enabled for around 2.64v even when OCed to 280 I only ran 2.74v and always had active cooling... (3x120mm fans on my rad blow across the mobo...

I suddenly get random blue screens and freezes and won't boot even at 250 unless I'm using 2.84v or more.... these were the same symptoms leading to the deaths of my two other sets...

I also never exceeded 2.7 + 0.3V (settings from SLI-DR). Always active cooling too, at least a 120mm fan, usually 2x120mm.
No idea about actual, my multimeter died an unhappy death a few months ago.

I have the Mushkins you mentioned they run solid at 280mhz. I couldn't ever say to not try them out. You could sell the balistix as brand new after you RMA them and probably have enough $ to buy some xp4000. The only think im not happy with is Mushkin screwed me over on my rebate and said I submitted two rebates so they declined me. Which is 100% crap, I only submitted one. they just needed an excuse to delcine me.
