    My Ek x1900 water block...

    Hey all,
Just got my Ek x1900 water block in the mail. Here are a few pics.

Block came in excellent shape. Base does have some very minor milling marks. But a quick 30 second lap job solved that problem. Milling marks were very slight, and might not have affected temps. I did not do a before and after test.

As you can see temps for gpu are 44c, which is 2c cooler than with my Maze4. Ambient temp is 21.5c. Minor quibble with the mosfet cooler. Didn't come with mounting screws, so I used a couple from the stock heatsink unit. Also while temps for mosfets are better, not as good as I thought they would be. But again a minor quibble.

For some reason a steel shim was placed between where the mosfet cooler and the block attach. When doing test mountings I found the shim to be unnecesary and so didn't use it.

All in all, this block rocks. Build and finish are top notch. Packaging was fine, with the block placed in bubble wrap and securely placed inside a well taped box. Comes with easy to understand and follow directions, for those who need them.

On a scale of 1 to 10 the Ek x1900 gets a 9.5, excellent but not perfect.

I highly reccommend the Ek x1900 block...

    Looking good..

Eddy: Nice work on the bottom side cavaties. Way to keep the weight down. That block had the posibility of being an absolute beast in terms of weight.

To bad it isn't shipped with screws, and to bad about the mosfet cooler, but apart from that, DangerDen has to make an effective one to beat it! You could get the mosfet block from alphacool, they have two differen types, one with G1/4" thread, and one for 5mm hose:
    http://www.alphacool.de/xt/advanced_...keywords=X1900
Might get that one instead of DangerDens then, it really looks good

BTW, you still make the single Corssfire-ready block, yes? I was thinking of using one barbs "up" and one "down" since my pump is on the bottom of my case...

Yes, the crossfire mode alowes you to have fittings on different sides.
The delrin top... I am seriously considering in doing delrin versions of all blocks.

Would be nice But I'm still going for the plexi top, as it looks better with the rest of the system.. I'm getting pretty sure that it's one of those I'm buying

Same here. Plexi is better for the optic than delrin.

God damnit, add fins to the vreg cooling part...those little chips get soooo hot. Look at his ATI Tool temp reading, almost 75C! Add fins!

Sweet. Ill probably get one either way in a month or two, but seeing as there's no window in my case, id rather have the extra peace of mind (im clinically paranoid) afforded by delrin

its near impossible to lap the entire base of the X1900 block (IIRC) because the ram and gpu parts are of different heights.you can lap one, but the other one wont get touched.

    his OC isn't that high.
mine is 690/800 for my everyday game speed.
I've never seen mine go above about 55C.
I've also been testing the hell out of my card lately, cause I am messing with a Accelero X2, and I use Systool to create temp logs of my PCB, Core and Vreg, and in all my temp logs of the Vreg, it's never went above 55C.

    Edit:

    I just tested it.
10 minutes, clocked higher, and higher resolution, and still didn't even come close to the 74C shown.
that VREG thing on that card isn't doing a thing for you...

odd my x1900xt is showing 52c stock speeds. I cant see yours only going up 3c when overclocking that much. but maybe its not that effected by core and memory freqency changes ? im no expert just an observation.
