    Cool Fx-60 Ccb2e 0536rpmw + Dfi Nf4 Ut Sli-dr

    FX-60 CCB2E 0536RPMW + DFI NF4 UT SLI-DR benchmark and mini review adventures.

    Yup, was crazy enough to get myself one of these going to cover some of the cost with selling off my Opteron 170 CCBWE 0544XPMW http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=1803 and eventually my Opteron 146 CAYBE 0540FPBW

    Room ambient:
    - room temp right now is between 30.1 to 31.8C

    The cpu:

    Thanks to k00lance at xtremesystems.org, the FX-60 arrived from USA brand new unopened retail box. The cpu was perfect condition, but same can't be said for the inside green protection foam which must of had a bad day

    Still going to cool cpu with Corsair Hydrocool 200EX Water
    - Pics are off Hydrocool 200 model but same as 200EX except EX model has fan filter on exhaust fan by default and slightly revised waterblock lapping on EX model
    - Tubing is 6mm inner diameter based or 1/4" OD - puny i know

    System:
    FX-60 CCB2E 0536RPMW using Corsair Hydrocool 200EX
    DFI NF4 UT SLI-DR R.AB0 1114-3 bios
    512mb HIS X1800XT
    4x 80GB Hitachi 7K80 SATA II raid 0
    1x 250GB Maxtor Maxline Plus2 PATA
    LiteOn 165H DVD-ROM
    FDD
    1KW PC Power & Cooling SLI psu

    Memory used:

    2x 1GB OCZ PC4000EB Platinum dual channel 3-3-2-8 rated ram

    @13x 200mhz 3-3-2-5 7-14-2-2-2-3 at 2.64v

    VID = AUTO
    VID Special = AUTO

    LDT = 1.3v
    LDT 3x

    CPC = Enabled

    Idle Cycle Limit = 16
    Dynamic Counter = Enabled
    R/W Queue Bypass = 16x
    Bypass Max = 7x
    32 byte Granularity = Disable(8burst)

    Results:
    - Swapped out my Opteron 170 and plucked in FX-60 and used AS5 TIM with Hydrocool 200EX block.
    - Bios idle temps were 3-5C higher with FX-60 @2600mhz 1.312v vs Opteron 170 @2600mhz 1.312v = 36-38C vs 31-33C
    - Windows idle temps were 3-4C higher with FX-60 @2600mhz 1.312v vs Opteron 170 @2600mhz 1.312v = 33-36C vs 29-33C

    Some stock screenies

    @2600mhz 1.312v idle

    very short dual stressprime small ffts and blend just to see what idle vs load temps are

    dual cpuburn K7 for 33+ mins - yup hot cpu with 45C load temps!

    Memtest86+
    - very preliminary tests just to get an idea of what cpu range is.

    First test is at 13x233HTT = 3029mhz at 1.312v stock vcore with 2GB OCZ PC4000EB @233mhz 3-3-2-5 at 2.64v with 2753MB/s memtest reported bandwidth and ran with no probs until it came to test #7 had errors. So upping vcore to see what the cpu likes

    Overclocking:
    Decided 3029mhz will be my first overclock to aim for. It booted into windows at 1.312v stock vcore but the apps were flaky when loading. So jumped straight to 1.408v for benching

    @3029mhz at 1.408v
    13x 233mhz 3-3-2-5 7-14 2223 at 2.64v

    CPUZ Validated http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=76841

    Super Pi v1.4 mod

    Single 8M & 32M

    Dual 8M & 32M

    Systool 32M PI with parrallel processing

    Very happy with this cpu so far, even better than my FX-57 0516WPMW oc'ing wise. Not sure about memory controller wise yet as it's still too early to tell

    Thanks guys if only i had better cooling to lower my temps a tad more - this cpu would really fly

    Seems so far i've hit the first hurdle at just 3105mhz at 1.472-1.504v with dual 32M freezing at the 18th iteration for both instances heh

    But single Super Pi v1.4 mod was fine

    1M @3105mhz at 1.456v

    8M & 32m @3105mhz at 1.472v

    3Dmark05 @3105mhz at 1.536v

    Yeah the 1KW psu is awesome and so is this cpu

    Not bad so far with a single 512MB HIS X1800XT

    PCmark05
    - my fastest X1800XT based score to date but only 3rd fastest score as i managed 7986 and 7973 with 2x 256MB BFG 7800GTX SLI with Opteron 170 @2900mhz.

    PCmark05 = 7,899

    Just trying to nail dual 32M at 3107mhz - seems cpu1 core keeps hanging after 18th iteration while cpu0 completes it fine heh

    To confirm it wasn't a memory issue, i lowered the cpu multiplier to 11x and set ram @275mhz 3-3-2-5 at 2.64v

    edit: yeah baby 3108mhz dual 32M completed, and all it needed was a tad more vdimm for some reason 2.64v has always been enough for 282mhz 3-3-2-5 with this ram, but for FX-60 @3108mhz dual 32M it needed 2.69v

    Nice results Eva! I have been following your thread closely as I am trying to attain better results than I currently have with an FX-60 and Crucial Ballistix memory. So far, the best I've been able to muster is 3003mhz using the default multiplier at 231 FSB with vcore at 1.472 as read by cpu-z. Anything higher fails dual super-pi 32M. I do have the same OCZ memory you are running coming in today, so maybe things will improve. Thanks for all the information you have posted.

    thanks, glad i could help

    guess heat is going to be #1 factor in how far i can dual prime stablise this cpu

    Probably time i swapped out Hydrocool 200EX and rebuild my custom water loop but instead of G4 Storm might use Silverprop Cyclone SE s939 or s478 with the s478 to s939 adaptor - IF i can get off my lazy butt to rebuild heh.

    (it's a shame all the green stuff is so messed up these days - AMD should fix that)
