Ok guys, heres the 411 on that "Yellow Dot" mod on the pic. Yes, they both rase the vgpu. How ever it shows to be very unstable. At least on my bfg.

The yellow point were the resistor is present shows to have more stability of the two points. Normal volts with out mod in 3D is 1.41-1.42. With mod I was able to get 1.43-1.44 volts. It will increase more but I wanted to start slow....LOL... Anywayz, I benched marked with Aquamark (less intence) at 475 core
1.35 mem. Modded & un modded. Of cores the modded way gave me a score of 81,110 and unmodded gave me 80,970. I ran it a second time to make sure but my machine crashed. Also keep in mind....I already have the "two resistor" mod from VR-Zone done on the card, so if anyone that hasnt done this mod yet, try the 100k vr mod and see what happends. And yes...the instant you start trimming down to like 70k-40k, the voltage goes up. So easy trimming!
Great work on your studies persivore. See what else you can find and I'll try it.
This card has some great potential. ...All we have to do is find out how to sqweeze it out with out killing it.

$oul, I doubled checked all the resistances, the numbers are good.

Persivore the 100k resistor is too small!

Noxide you need in increase it's size to about 200k and above. Currently I am using about 250k ohms of resistance, looking for the "sweet spot" on the card. It seems that if you give it too much voltage, it will crash, but too little and it will artifact. I am pushing 500mhz on the core ATM, have not messed with the ram voltages/times yet.

I removed the voltage regulation resistors before I read your post, maybe someone else should try the mod with them left intact and see what happens.

Will keep you up to date.

Here's to not frying the 7800GS.

With an attitude like that, I'm sure you would!

Looking at the pics I can get to on the Web, i'd say he was talking "arse" as well, but there ya go! Lots of em around isn't there!

Perhaps Dano needs telling he's talking bullsh*t!

Go for it Mav, you appear to have the balls!

    Hi to all:

Kin Hell, Maviryk I have that insupportable and horrible beeping sound. Not all the time, sometimes and especially if the PC have been turn on for a long time. So I suspect it must be related to temps because if I turn ON the PC with everything overclocked to the max I don’t have any noise gaming or what ever, but if the PC is turn ON for a long time even browsing in internet I hear sometimes that "pathetic beeping sound". I am not sure if it comes from the 7800GS or from the PSU. PC is stable all the time no random reboots.

WeldZilla: I have done your "squeezed molex plug" No problem since then... hope the noise do not come back!!!
    My PC:
    CASE: NNPC & CORSAIR TX650

    MEMORY: GSKILL 2GB 2x500 = 1000Mhz

Hi, Nuevototem & welcome to The Xtreme Systems.
Having heard this issue myself & waved "bye-bye" to another 550W PSU, I'd say by the sound of it, the Molex Nipping has sorted your issue for you. I'd still be tempted to have your PSU checked tho. LMAO @ the sound eh!; It's like it's croaking ready to roll over & die aint it!

So it seems we have drifted away from the original topic of voltmodding the beast. I have a 7800 gs myself and want to do the same thing to it. I am currently maxed out at 485/1500 tried higher on the memory with powerstrip but got artifacting after a few minutes. Card is still nice and cool though. I love the heatsink on the bfg oc model. MY CARD IS STARVING FOR VOLTAGE HELP ME FEED IT!!!!
