Maybe SLi on i975 boards with patch!

Patch for ULi/ATi based motherboards to enable SLi

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I happen to have an ULi based board, and it had been bugging me that I couldn't enable SLi on it. Well, I finally came across a nice little patch that does exactly that (apparently, it works on ATi based chipsets, and perhaps Intel chipsets as well). It works like a charm.

I know I'm not the only one that's been looking for this, and while I'm not sure if any of you folks fall into that category, here it is anyway.

    ULi/ATi SLi Driver
    Source

Can someone with a P5WD2-E Premium board test this? This would be very nice if SLi does work on i975!

Well, Nvidia did just purchase ULi, so that could be the reason that SLI works on that board. I'd be interesting in seeing if there is a way to hack that "patch" though.

Yeah i know, but it's also working on ATi chipsets That's why there might be a possibility that it also works on intel chipsets

    Damm to bad

But how can it work on an ATi chipset? Because of the ULi southbridge?

^^ZOMG! The real Crotale!! Didn't know you hung out on here Congrats on winning the SOC

Bummer that patch doesn't work though... hopefully by the time i985X is released someone will have found/made a solid patching programme!

Because then people would buy superior Intel chipsets instead of the comparitively crappy nVidia nF4 chipsets, and they would lose business! Not good for them :p

Crotale, on post #11 said the patch didn't work.

I'm not trying that stuff, seems like it's been modified to make-belief that it can work with any chipset.

    A hoax in my opinion.

Update: It seems that the patch is not working for Intel chipsets. We’re working on a patch update and it might take a while. We’re looking for beta testers with an ULi 1695/7 based motherboards.

with 6600 gt you dont need any patches ,as it works on p5wd2-p . just use an earlier driver ,and sli works fine .

I tried this patch several times with several different drivers and had no success.

Yeah, I have noticed that a few older drivers work, but what happens when you play a game that has been released after those drivers were....many bugs, missing textures, etc. Frickin Nvidia, don't leave us hanging like this

I think because of Nvidia's good relations with AMD, Nvidia will not support Intel.

AMD blaming Intel for bad practices yet that is nothing compared to Nvidia rooster blocking of any improvement to Intel, the non SLI drivers is a real big FU to those running Intel chipsets.

I am so close to going off on Nvidia.
