    My opinion,
    i don't think this is impressive at al
    actually i can say these crosfire results are bad when you compare it with the efficiency of sli..

    GTX512-->9.6K
    XTX--->11.5K

    2*GTX512-->19.2K
    2*XTX---->19.5K

    oh yeah hats off for ati and crossfire they sure rule
    3DMark05 at default resolution (1024x768) is not the benchmark you want to use for comparing SLI/CF efficiency. Its 99% CPU bound w/ 3.5GHz FX60 and 750/850 clocked X1900CF. You can see that GT1 and 2 are basically the same with both SLI and CF and only the most GPU dependent GT3 shows a small difference (at lower CPU clock even that would be equal). Overclocking the cards at that point gives zero improvement. You'd need higher CPU speed to see the benefit of increased video speed.

    If you want to compare them with 3DMark05 I suggest running it at (at least) 1600x1200 4AA 8AF. Even then GT1 and 2 are highly CPU bound.

    The A8R32-MVP will require modding for optimal performance....all the top ocers are eager for the release of the DFI RD580, which should be the real deal.

    Closing in...

    Cards at 760/890MHz, sysmem at 250MHz. Again I had a run that froze for me at 3550+ hitting 19637 I have a new set of memory that Im going to try if they can go higher on this limited voltage (3.35V with mod) and stay sub 3550 where I know I can save the score. I may have time for one more try today or tomorrow, then I'm of to the states until thursday.

    how did you come up with this equation? Im getting almost 14k on air with a single xtx, and 16k has also been done with a single xtx. but I sure agree with you on the lack of efficiency. 16k-19.5k is a very poor performance gain although I don't totally blame it on the GPU's. CPU is obviously at fault, although SLI is much more performance efficient then CF.
    Current Setup:
    -9850 GX2's in Quad SLI config
    -Asus P5N32-SLI MB
    -2x512mb of PC2-5300 DDR2
    -Intel Celeron D OC'd to 3.2Ghz
    -Windows Me with XP theme
    -WD Caviar 20GB Hard Drive
    -Zip drive
    -Jazz drive

    -5.25" floppy drive

    multi and RAM divider are identical to yours (and same goes to the score too obviously!) =)

    getting to 3550 w/ x16 and 250 mode seems to be target for now.

    In any case, don't say you're an editor (unless you have a visa). Just say you're there for a business. Unfortunately I'm not going this time, I visited there last fall. Cool place.
