    ASUS A8N-SLI Premium & Gskill PC4000 (2x1024)

So far I have checked the forums thoroughly but I wasn't able to find settings for my mobo and this pair of ram

I have bought them cause I thought I would be able to reach 250FSB cause I couldn't with my prevoius OCZ.I'm a little bit frustrated to be honest. I need some help to make them run at 500MHz. Thanks in advance for any help I'll get from here

    My rig is:
    PSU:Tagan 480 Watt rev 01
    Mobo:ASUS A8N SLI-Premium
    CPU:AMD Athlon 64X2 3800+ rev.BH-E4
    Ram:Gskil 2x1024 pc4000 (recently bought)b4 2or 3 days

I can't pass any test with them above 230FSB and LDT 4x
I would like to help me with timings if possible with my mobo so as to reach 2500GHz wthe proccessor and 500 MHZ the Ram. That's enough for me.

I increased the voltage to the CPU at 1.425v but I can't pass the mem test
PC can boot to windows though

Looking for settings and advices that will help me to get my goal

What does this mean as an answer.

The product that I paid for and bought is not compliant with my mobo

Why should I buy Gskill then??? (wondering...)

In the official site there is a review with Gskill and A8N SLI- Premium I can't believe the answer that I got from an official techician .

    I'm really dissapointed ....

I hope I'll get at list some settings for lower timings, although tha sucks

Anyway the timings that I use so far are:

    Memclock : 400MHz
    CAS # (TCL) 3
    (Tras) 8T
    (Trcd) 4T
    (Trp) 4T
    (Trc) 11T
    (Trfc) 16T
    (Trwt) 3T
    (Twr) 2T
    Memory timing 1T

    LDT 4x
    FSB 230
    DDR Volt 2.6Volt
    Chipset Volt 1.6
    HT Volt 1.2
    CPU Multiplier 10x
    Cpu Voltage 1.425V
PCI clock locked at 33.33 MHz

With this settings the PC works fine at 2300MHz and the memorey at 460MHz

I would appreciate some answers from Techicians so as to reach 2500MHz core clock.

I would like to hear what I should change on my timings so as to make my memory working at DDR500

Looking forward to get an answer....

Have you tried changing just the Memory Timing Setting from 1T to 2T. (Small performance loss but will allow you to clock higher)

I have an Asus A8n board which will only goto about 230-240Mhz using 1T (Tried my G.Skill mem and my brothers Corsair XMS4400 mem, so seems like a board issue).

If I use 2T I can go all the way upto 292Mhz. All your other settings look OK to get you to 2500Mhz... above 2500 and you will need to change LDT to 3X.

BTW - make sure you put mem in blue slots so its run in Dual Channel Mode.

    Hope that helps.

Only the first Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe have the well known and so called «1T bug». You can find huge amounts of information about that issue on other threads.
In this thread we are dealing with another possible issue: the incompatibility of the Asus A8N-SLI Premium with the G.Skill HZ 2Gig kit.
I have a personal interest in this matter because I´m thinking on getting this memory kit...

Nuhai: The new bios is Beta alright, but that doesn´t stop it from being new, and pretty much stable I might add.

I alsow know a friend of mine that has the same board and mems than you, and he says he didn´t have compatibility problems. Could it be your specific mem kit? Have you tried it on other mobos?

Edit: A friend of mine just bought a HZ kit, I´ll try and ask him to borough it to me for some tests...

    Hey all,

Hoping I can get some tips/assistance on this…. I just recently bought the G.Skill D500 F1-4000USU2-2GBHZ RAM and have been having some very random blue screens. I’ve tried various RAM timings, and am still getting blue screens in XP at odd times (one when I clicked the “logout” button from my online banking, one after boot up, 3-4 while playing WoW).
I’ve been running this system with old no name (2x512 ddr 333) RAM under clocked on a divider, and did not experience any problems at all. This issue appears to be either bad G.Skill RAM, or still incorrect settings, or incompatibility issues. Here’s what I have in my system:

    ASUS A8N SLI Premium
    AMD 64x2 4200+
    EVGA 7800GT CO 256-P2-N517-AX
    WD 74GB Raptor SATA
    Seagate 80GB PATA
    Plextor CDRW

I’m running slight overclock for 250FSB x10 multi for 2500 CPU and 500 RAM. Temps are not a problem, and never had the blue screens with old RAM under clocked. G.Skills will pass hours of memtest86, and superpi and prime95 without issue at this speed. Yet there appears to be a problem. I first tried bios settings based off suggested settings for A8N32 mobo:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...15&postcount=1

and now have slightly milder settings (see pics below). I have also tried various DDR and chipset voltages, but system seems most stable at lowest voltages for both.

Please look at my included screen shots and let me know if you see a problem, or have a suggestion of something I can change. Otherwise, it looks like I may be sending this RAM back to the egg, for something else.

    Thanks for the help all!

    -Eupho

    Hi,
I was looking for a set of 2x1GB RAM for my system. I heard from many people that the G.Skill HZ PC4000 are a very nice solution. They can easily go up to 260-280, depending on the system. The problem is that I heard that they might not work properly with my mobo.

    My system is:

    A8N-SLI (latest BIOS)
    AMD Opteron 165
    ASUS 7800GTX 256
    2x36.7GB Raptors @ RAID-0
    Fortron Bluestorm 500W

I have tried 3 different memory sets and the results were (not POST-only, 24/7 stable):
    CPU @ 2400, RAM @ 240 --> Kingston Hyper-X 2x512MB
    CPU @ 2600, RAM @ 217 --> Patriot LLK 2x1GB
    CPU @ 2700, RAM @ 270 --> PQI Turbo 2x512MB

I have seen that this RAM works fine in the A8N32 mobo but I really don't want to change m/b right now. So, all I want is to know if the G.Skill HZ PC4000 set will work properly with my mobo @ 245-270. Can you / have you tested this mobo with this RAM?

Thank you in advance for any answers.
