ct-479 mods are a must, these gain me quite a bit even using using lower volts, think mines 24/7 stable at 2750 now (183x15) then you must upgrade to atleast a 7000b-alcu...

then you should be able to go >2700 with 1.4v

Ok. So....... Vcore simply doesn't work (well - only up to 1,4 V) with the dothans. Shame one you, Asus, not to provide us with a decent dothan/pci-e board!

Anyone else with this board - please post your experiences!

I was led to beleive that the p4gpl-x is has an almost identical board layout to the p4gd1 and that the same mods would apply to each. If this is true you should have more success looking for the pg4d1 mod as it's the more popular board.

Did you try the u-wire for 1.55v? Worked on my laptop

There's one for 1.6v aswell somewhere...

Yes, ofcourse all mods work for both boards but I did not need vcore mod. Bios gives you 1.7V, so the actual vcore around 1.78V because of overvolting. You don't need more unless going for WR under LN2! 1.65-1.75 is more than enough on air/water. Chipset mod is more important although most p4gpl-x boards would easily do 260+ without mods. My P4gd1 seemed to do a bit lower without mods.

IMO, if you are still having these vcore changing problems, I'd RMA either board (or maybe adapter). Had no probz with modded adapter and original adapter.

actually I tryed, but this mod is for laptops imo. My computer didn`t want to boot up with that wire mod.

Kivi, i know that 1,7V is more than enough for pm, but if i can`t give over 1,4v, then I have to do core vmod, to get more volts.

So far I can get 270fsb with my p4gpl-x with no mods. I would post a screen shot but when I try it says the file is too large. Only 200mb allowed.

16floz470ml, I will try going to high FSB without mods too, I have 2.3v VCCA and could boot at 270 on my p4c800-e before so I'm thinking I should be able to get high 1:1 with my ballistix

Damn, my dothan 740 died yesterday. I don`t know why? I were just editing a picture in photoshop when I suddenly smelled a weird smell. I unplugged the psu wire immediatly. Smell came from cpu cooler, i thouht, oh, only fan, but when i took off the fan, the heatsink was on the bottob a little bit brown and a very little piece has broken off from the core. It was dead. Voltages were default, cooler was inbox with AS5 paste. CPU clocks were default (1,73).

In a place where a piece came of from the cpu, in the same place on the heatsink was a brown mark.

EDIT: now new dothan 740. I`ll test it tomorrow.

Could you possible take a picture of the BIOS screen to show the overclocking options on the P4GPL-X please? I'm thinking of getting one to replace my P4C800E and go with a nice X1900XT

Oh and what is the highest FSB you could boot at from bios before changing with clockgen?

Would love to see some Pi scores!

OK i'll get some later for you along with some pi 1M and 03/06

I'm booting at 188x15 for 24/7 (the board actualy overFSB's be 0.3, so in windows it's 188.3x15 = 2825, just did 12 hours of systool stability testing and few hours of quake 4 so it's stable I think
