    Nvidia slideshow, can you say...

    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/N...LaunchAnalysis

    Er.. ehim.

    Lets not forget:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...2&postcount=12

    http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/..._nvidia_sli_aa

So much for the superior SLI

And that 7800GTX 512MB hardlaunch.. (as in, 5 per continent )

    Good for a laugh.

EDIT: I guess I'll put this in for good measure:

..... is all I have to say. 36FPS vs 85FPS at the settings that really matter for a dual GPU setup. And the worst part is, thats not even the x1900

nVidia made a slideshow just to brag about the early release and success of the 7800 series, and now that ATi has CF and the x1800 and x1900, they just find excuses to say nVidias verry expensive and scarce 7800 GTX 512mb is better than anything ATi has

Right now ATi is beating nVidia in speed, IQ, and price.

I think nVidia is having some trouble with the 7900 and are scared of the x1900 series, so they released that slideshow to brainwash some n00bs.
nVidia may be woried that the 7900's performance could be a bit lower than they expected, or the price to produce a 7900 could be really high comapred to the benefits in performance, or availability may be an issue.

has alot of similarities with the ATI slides we saw a while ago on techpowerup.

so maybe ATi and Nvidia use the same company to develop their crappy slideshows.

if they r from nvidia its a really stupid move by em

hope it doesnt mean that the 7900 sux ass.

I agree with your post. I think yields are an issue for one reason or another, not just because vr-zone said so...but the speak of April (March Cebit "launch" former-ATi style) availability now, where it used to be Cebit. That being said, there will prolly be a heck of a lot of 7900gt's (or some lower bin), come march 20th.

I don't know about ya'll, but I was sure a while back this thing was going to stomp the x1900...now I think it might just tiptoe across it. The wind def seems to be changing, at any rate.
    That is all.

    Peace and love.

Drivers was the first thing I thought of too...not to mention cf for X19 is quite young.

    **NOTICE**

JUST wanted to point out that discussion over the need for the slides or bashing the rationale behind the existence of the slides is counter-constructive. Only dicussion regarding whats in the slides is allowed...all other whining about "Ha !! See Nvidia has slides too !!" belongs in Wamps.

Ahmad, good find. Good for a laugh indeed.

    That is priceless...
Now we just need ATi to actually get a working Linux driver and I will be happy with them...

    It's supose to be > $750.
It's $100 off I guess they wanted to make the situation look less horrible than it is

    Why...Thank You

It was made on an Apple G5 with 21" Cinema LCD (in school) :p So I had the resources to match the background, font, fontsize and format of the original slides

Though the origin of the quote at the bottom right gives it away

Reaper Mod is only for BSD/Linux
I have to mod it to get it to run on Windows.. and right now even with 2 X1900XTs in crossfire and latest drivers.. I can't get it to do 40pfs...and I can get 2 7800Gtx in SLi in linux to do 38fps.. SO I would love to see what they can really do...

Well I wouldn't take this as a sign of weakness . I mean right now they are just trying to do whatever they can to not let people buy ATI GPU. It could mean that the G71 will be delayed even more than we expect (no launch date set yet and nvidia hasn't said anything about sending samples out).

But even at 750MHz on the core and 2000Mhz on the memory of the 7800GTX 512MB with 3.7GHz x2, we see a score of 13093... (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1596172) and this has already been done with an x1900xt on air quite easily (with clocks no where near that high). I mean these better be some serious clockers (those 7900Ultras) to really compete here.

Even kingpin managed 819MHz/2.1GHz on the memory of the GTX and he only got 13493 (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1483430).. again with a very heavily overclocked CPU as well. So from this we can guess the stock score for the G71 would be roughly 11-11.5k I would guess.

That said, I still think the G71 will be close in performance to the x1900.
